act of god - insurance prob won't cover it - I expect the rock is on E-Buy already. thing is, you could get any old pebbles, chuck em in a tumble dryer for a bit then throw em on the fire and hey presto! a meteorite.

hmmm that gives me an idea...

....then you can use the money gained from the "meteorite" to replace the now broken tumbledryer

Drying the rock in the oven? I don't get it. BTW, I think some time ago there was a similar story, even with a pic added. Then the meteorite crashed near a computer as well. I wonder, are they somehow attracted to PCs?

Insurance can cover it if the home owner actually bought the proper type of insurance contract. Most people buy cheap and so get very limited coverage in which case, no, it is not covered.

You see what you do is you go to mid-evil times. Then you can get rocks AND catapaults. But if you try to get a rock during a seige, make sure you have an extra head.

he was quoting.

and we'll have to wait for a couple more meteors to hit. then we can confirm the theory.

and i don't understand, what does drying in the oven do? it's only been toasted a couple billion times during entry.

well we could always make a plan with the catapult

I think warming it in the oven has something to do with it's physical state. Maybe since it goes from the intense cold of space to the intense heat of the atmosphere to the relative coolness of where we live, you have to heat it to maybe even out the temperature or else it will crack?
