during Ray C's heroin addiction phase when it was difficult for him to find work, me fayther was one of the few people who would book him, when even Ronnie Scott (me old mans arch-rival back in the 60s) turned him away. Similarly, me dad booked Jerry Lee Lewis to appear in Burnley when no-one else would touch him after he eloped with his underage cousin (ok JLL isn't jazz but me dad booked anyone if they were good enough, he was a total muso)
