top game, still got the limited edition box, but haven't played it for 3 yrs or so. excellent game, well thought out and balanced. and doesn't appeal to spoggy kids.

as for alpha centuari, i saw it in the shops, it put me off.

Loved alpha Centauri til the disk got scratched. slead guns were my favorite.

i made sure i was the first to win, then i pelted everyone with fusion planet busters

This was a very fun game. The only thing I didn't like about it was how easy it was to screw up the environment. You'd get near the end of the game and want to build a lot of satelites but it would push your cities into eco damage so you couldn't do it. There was a lot of stuff you could hack in text files, but I never could find a way to turn of eco damage.

My favorite thing to do was sit on my defences until I got the space elevator, then I could land my tanks right in the midst of my enemies and destroy them.

Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!

yay, SMAC is great. But I still can't get it to work. I gave up any hope of ever getting it to work again.
And before anyone asks, Yes I dl-ed every patch etc there is. Doesn't work

did you try running it in compatibility mode?

I've never had the opportunity to play it. I do remember one thing though, they released an expansion called "Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire", but I don't think that it is as well known. I could be wrong .

I love Alpha Centauri and it's expansion. I think the aliens can ruin the game though. I suppose this just proves how weird XP is, because it runs fine on mine with XP.

I still play this game. One of my favorites.

All in all, Alien Crossfire I think is better. I like being able to create my own faction.
