Stanley Cup Finals

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Stanley Cup Finals

Well I dont know who of us are interested in ice hockey, but game 7 of the cup finals is tonight and I'm getting pretty excited ..

Who are you rooting for? Who do you think will win? Blah Blah Blah

Post Mon Jun 07, 2004 1:28 pm

Awwwww....man! I cant wait! Calgary is going to win. They should have won game 6. That puck WENT IN! I mean...what are the guys watching the cameras using crappy low resolution cameras? They pay millions to a player but can't spend a bit of that to improve the quality of the cameras? Whatever. Anyways, even from teh blurry photos, you can tell it went in. Game 6 totally should have been won by Calgary.

Besides that, tonights game is going to be close! I predict 3-2 Calgary. ;D

If the pattern holds, Calgary should win this one. Also if you take a look at the on-the-road record..i think Calgary's is slightly better.

2 and a half more hours ;D

Hockey? Oh, boy! Oh, boy! Oh, boy! Oh wait, I don't like sport. Sorry .

Wonder if sw gets it where she is? Since she's up on hockey as well. Liked years ago, when I could do some ice skating, but lost all interest. The fight worse than baseball players.

There's definitely something screwy about this game when you come to realize that a Candian team (naturally) is contesting for the championshp with a team from Florida and the final game is being played in Florida.

Yep, go Calgary! (I live like 30km from there, too, so nya!)

I can't watch the game due to homework (arg!), but I predict that Calgary's gonna win, because they're not at home .

But, yeah, they so should have won last game. (Also, it would have meant that they win the cup here, which would have been sooo cool.)

Go Flames go!

Did a little research. All this time I thought they were talking about the "Hitmen" but, no, its the flames.

*Waits for flames (, both of em), to roll in* Actually im not a huge Calgary fan. Especially because they eliminated Vancouer who happen to be one of my favorite teams ...I wouldn't root for a Florida team normally but I happen to like alot of the players on Tampa Bay. Plus I think Khabibulin really deserves to get his name on the cup after the year he's had in the net

No! Flames lost! Jeez... it was so close, too. Calgary just needed to pick up the pace much earlier on in the game.
Anyway... I'm not a big sports fan, either. It's just that living so close to the epicenter of this fanaticism means it kinda bleeds off into you, you know?

Well... bad luck, I suppose. It woulda been nice to have the cup, but personally I'm happy that they made it this far, especially considering how long they've been... er... not as good.

Edit: Oh, yeah.. uh... I did some homework, too...

Ah what a great game, great series, great playoffs...Brad Richards as the MVP, yeah he had a great playoff run, 26 points in 23 playoff games. Ah I still think Nikolai Khabibulin should've won though, if it wasn't for his superb goaltending in Game 7, Calgary would've certainly taken the cup on Tampa's ice. You gotta feel good for Dave Andreychuk right now too, more than 1700 games without winning the cup, longest wait in NHL history. Not particularly sad about Calgary losing, I don't like Jerome Iginla too much, puck hog, and Ville Nieminen is quite the nasty player though he does have some talent to go with it. I do feel bad for their goalie though...What a year he had huh, came from San Jose after they said he wasn't even good enough to be back up and then went to Calgary and made sports headlines around the country.

I was quite worried about the ice in Tampa though...I mean...what would they do if the ice had melted...Scuba Hockey? New penalty, finger in snorkel...
