Cell Phone Troubles

Alright lets see if our collective brains can fix my cell phone problems. Yesterday I put the thing into silent all mode while my girlfriend and myself were at the movies. When i got home it wouldn't come out of that. Now its also in something called "carkit Mode". It will receive calls just fine, its just that I can't hear a thing through the speaker in it. Not that first sound will come through. I can not even check my voice mail with it at the moment. Text messages and everything else still work fine. Thanks for the help.

Matt

<edit> iIts the LG flip phone from verizon. I dont know what model number off the top of my head.

do you use a handsfree kit? i mean "carkit" could mean "car-kit" - that's what my phone does when i plug the handsfree thing in - you know earpiece and mike. maybe they got stuck last time round or the terminals are dirty.

Mobile phones *spits* . Well Matt? How's the phone? Is it working properly now?

I finally got it figured out today, stated simply from the verizon guy.

"Your 200 dollar cell phone, is now worth about 6 dollars in parts"

Apparently a smidgen of water got into the charger base and toasted one of the lower components, once that blew, another, and another, etc...
So it ends up I need a new phone, thanks for the help.

<<edit>> Give me a email will you Esq, i dont have your current email. Its on profile if you need it. Yours comes up unknown sender.

I hate cell phones. They bug me the most when I see people driving on the road and using cells at the same time. Lethal combination.

Matt - Remember to remove the "delme" from the address. That's probably your problem . Otherwise tell me, and I'll email ya. Also, why do you want to email me anyway? I am intrigued .

Mee - Tell me about it. Don't they say that chatting on a mobile when driving is nearly as bad as being drunk?

Email sent Esq, that was my problem. You'll see why when you get the email.

Anyway, I agree with the driving and cell phone thing. My friend just got his '94 Firebird totaled last week where I live for that very reason. A guy was messing with his phone and plowed threw a stop sign and hit him broadside. He couldnt do a thing. Im at least glad he didnt get hurt, just his car.

*Goes and checks email* Ah, I see. Writing a response now .

The thing about mobiles is that once they were used for business, and now they are mainly used by pretentious types as a social status symbol. You know what I mean, the old "my phones better than your phone" types. *Shakes head* I'll never understand it. When I have to get a mobile for work, then I'll worry about it. Until then however... mobiles! *Spits* .

The driving /phone thing is all too common these days. If they police would ticket people caught on the phone, $100 fine, it might go down on the accidents/deaths involving phones and cars.

So you think because some people are too dumb to drive and talk on the phone at the same time, no one should be able to do it? Some people aren't fit to listen to the radio and drive at the same time, but we don't take their radios away. I think it should be legal to talk and drive at the same time, but if you cause a wreck while talking on your phone you ought to go to jail for a year, and if you kill someone make it 20 years. This would cause people to talk and drive less, and they wouldn't use their phones as much when the traffic was too heavy. There's nothing wrong with having a 90 second conversation when you're going along on an empty highway. But a 90 minute conversation while your trying to paint your toenails, or eat a burger, or while you're holding your phone in one hand and a smoke in the other, that's a recipe for disaster.

The thing I hate the most about cell phones is that some people are so obnoxious with them. It's like as soon as they get up they start talking to people, all day long. You know what I'm talking about. You're in the supermarket and the lady blocking the aisle is talking to someone about completely stupid stuff, like she's giving someone a play-by-play of her shopping list. I just want to yell, "shut up! No one cares what kind of vegatables you're buying! Quit filling up our airwaves with crap!" Then you go to the movies or the library and there's a big fat sign telling you to turn your phone off, but sure enough the person behind you has their phone ring right in the middle of the movie and they have some loud and stupid conversation. Because the sign meant that everyone else should turn off their phone, but they're more important so it's OK if their phone goes off.

Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!

here in Hengishland, where i live, some moronic woman
was smoking and talking on the phone at the same time,
i was walking home when she drove past, then some hot,
ash from her fag, fell into her lap, she ****ed the wheel
and (all school mothers in england have 8 seater monster
cars) careened into the front door of the church, as in
straight throught the door (closed) that was too narrow
so the car smashed 18 square meters of 200 year old stone.

dumb ass person.

I know my sig is a girl.

I actually wouldn't mind it if they used those things that you plug into your cell so you could speak to the person on the other end while keeping your hands on the wheel and your eye on the road, where it belongs.
