UT2004 Maps

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

UT2004 Maps

Name your favorite maps/modes and favorite strategies. For those of you who have played it. My 3 favorite modes gotta be:

Onslaught
Assault
Bombing Run

in that order.

I havent found a favorite map yet, but an old time favorite of mine has to be Lavagiant, also that one really cool on called Icetomb. Theres tons of maps and I really have yet to find a true favorite but I did hear from someone there are certain areas on maps you can only access via translocator. I dont know if thats true or how though I am very curious about that. My favorite map so far in the whole game, actually 2, has to be the 2 assault maps Convoy and Mothership. Mothership is I think the coolest of the bunch, dogfighting is so much fun.

PS: Favorite weapon has to be the old-style sniper rifle. I really dont like the lightning rifle much.

Can I presume you are talking about game maps? If so, have none, only use them when I have to, and tactics can very with the game.

I don't care for the Unreal Tournament games, except the original. I just picked up UT2003 yesterday, and I'm going to have to take it back today because it fails to work properly. I install it once, the installation's corrupted. So I remove it. Second time, it installs without a hitch. I can play the game. Only for about ten minutes before it locks up. I download the patch and latest drivers. I still get problems. I uninstall it again. The THIRD time should have been the charm. But I couldn't get past the second disc. It stopped the installation with an error stating that I've got bad media. I give up. It's going back. As for UT2004? No chance. It's nothing more than glossy version of 2003 with vehicles. That's all it is. I even doubt that IT will work with my machine. This sucks, because my computer can still run just about everything else out there.

Heathen! ‘Tis a sin to say that UT2004 sucks! You suck! Tanks and stuff rock!

Post Sat Jun 05, 2004 8:37 am

This is not the first time I've been called a heathen. *Glares at Chips* I just don't think that UT2004 is all that great of a game. It looks and pretty much plays like the previous version, except that it has Assault and Onslaught. That's it. And speaking of UT2003, the fourth installation attempt IS the charm. No problems with it now whatsoever. So I'll keep it around a little while longer.

Actually UT2004 is a whole lot different to UT2003

i name you, meezookeewee as the unforgiven, for the sin
of Bad-mouthing UT2004. May the sandman bring you the
nightmares of Hell!

*Shoots AOD in mid curse*

Well that's that sorted.

UT as a series is fun but I prefer other games

Post Sat Jun 05, 2004 1:17 pm

@Aod: I'm going to Hell anyway, so I might as well have some fun on the way.
Unreal Tournament 2004 isn't a bad game, but I won't buy it. Not for 40 bucks anyway.
It isn't worth it.

40 bucks! are you buying two copies?

Post Sat Jun 05, 2004 5:34 pm

It's not bad, but it is very much a rehash of UT2003, which is to be expected.

Post Sat Jun 05, 2004 7:43 pm

@Aod: 40 bucks? That's how much UT2004 costs, both DVD and CD versions. I'll probably pick it later, though, knowing me.

I picked it up for $55 AUD today at a swapmeet, and it is $89.95 AUD retail. I'd call that cheap .

Edit: I was just wondering how well UT2004 runs on other people's PCs. I have my 9700 OC'd, and I have 4x FSAA and 8x AF enabled, with the game's detail settings on the highest levels, and the resolution at 1280x960@85Hz, and it runs perfectly.
