Life goes on without ''vital'' DNA

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Life goes on without ''vital'' DNA

Life goes on without 'vital' DNA

It is not often that the audience at a scientific meeting gasps in amazement during a talk. But that is what happened recently when researchers revealed that they had deleted huge chunks of the genome of mice without it making any discernable difference to the animals.

Lets see a few generations down the road. As genes are passed down, albeit, suttel(sp) to other generations while not being ovious to a couple.

May I point out:

To find out the function of some of these highly conserved non-protein-coding regions in mammals, Edward Rubin's team at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California deleted two huge regions of junk DNA
they deleted Junk DNA!

Messing with DNA is like messing with the regsiterty(sp) when you don't know what the lines are for or do. The tinker too much.

Lol, I hope that mice turns in to "something" and bites their ass. That would teach them not to mess with the natures design

If the regions didn't code for proteins then obviously it's going to have little to no effect on the mice.

That's nothing new. DNA has a lot of superfluous information; it's common knowledge (I think ).

You're right, they're called introns. Little bits of useless DNA just sitting there taking up space for some yet unknown purpose.
