Foobar

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Foobar

I just found a really cool alternative audio player, called Foobar 2000!
Its similar to winamp (if you get the right skin plugins...) gut has better sound quality and file support.

get it here: www.foobar2000.org

I will always stay loyal to winamp, it has never failed me, except for that time it was mauled by a virus. WINAMP FOREVER!!! Anyway, I was always under the impression that sound quality wasn't related to the player but to how the music was recorded, i.e kbps

EDIT: I'll probably give it a try when it gets to version 1.0 and beyond.

I am just a worthless liar,
I am just an imbecile,
I will only complicate you,
Trust in me and fall as well.

"Foobar"? Hmm, isn't that full of spyware? I think I remember reading that a long time ago.

The version i got is spyware-free. nothing so far that good 'ole spybot hasn't picked up.

fisch.....

you are correct. bit rate or the KPS is the deciding factor in teh clarity and sampling rate of an audio file...BUT some not many and it is rare to find one...but some players do not play files that are sampled over 128kps and some times will not play over 96kps...but as i said it is rare and few and far between.

Winamp plays 386kps files as well as Win Media player 9

all that matters in a player would be the graphic eq being a graphic and or a parabolic. Also if a player has enviroment settings...so on and so on....and finally the last part is what the highest sample rate your SC can play. Most are running around 128bit so thats not much of an issue anymore so running high sample rates is notthat difficult.

Yeah, I wouldn't use any program named SNAFU either.

the actual player itself produces a different (better) sound than WMP or WinAmp. strange... and other spyware detectors didn't pick anything up.

What do you mean it produces a "better" sound? If you are using the same MP3's there shouldn't be any difference because all players operate the same way.

The final output is processed differently to winamp and winmedia. and the eq has more channels and flexibility

Or so they say... I'll take your word for it.
