Confused??! I AM!

I was just reading the Yahoo!News and came across the following article about a boy who used a chatroom to trick another boy into stabbing him voluntarily.

Here's the gist of it...

A teenage boy posed as a spy in an internet chatroom to persuade a friend to kill him in an "extraordinary suicide attempt", a court heard.

The boy, 14 at the time, groomed his friend, then 16, with an "elaborate matrix of deceit" involving a series of fictional identities in the chatroom. The older boy, boy A, tried to kill his friend, boy B, on the orders of the "spy", Manchester Crown Court heard.

Boy A pleaded guilty to attempted murder and boy B pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and incitement to murder.

Boy A was given a two-year supervision order and banned from any contact with boy B.

Boy B was given a three-year supervision order, banned from any contact with boy A and was told he must only access the internet under adult supervision and must not enter chatrooms under any circumstances.

Boy A, the older one, believed that by stabbing boy B he would be recruited as a British secret service agent and would be rewarded with a sexual relationship with the spy, a middle-aged woman.

But, in reality, boy B had fallen in love with boy A, tricked him into performing sex acts on a webcam and conned him into stabbing him twice in Altrincham, Greater Manchester.

Posing as the spy and promising sex and money, boy B sent messages to boy A ordering him to stab his friend to death.

The following day, June 29, 2003, boy A "carried out his orders to the letter" and stabbed boy B once in the chest and once in the stomach.

But boy B did not die and spent a week in Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester before recovering.

I'm astounded by the sheer intensity that this kid went to. Are we witnessing the birth of a new form of internet grooming? Suicide grooming?

Yeah there was some similar stories here aswell. Some lady payed someone over the net to come kill her. There seems to be more people trying to kill themselves by having someone else kill them, dunno why, if my life has gotten so low i decide I need to die most likely I would wanna do it alone. Funny thing is almost everyone gets caught, but hey that is a really wierd story, sex acts on a webcam? its hard to believe that theres someone at the ripe age of 14 (or was it 16) who still believes in fairytales like that. Oh yeah and the story is incredibly consfusing, too many A's and B's if ya ask me, they should have just split it into two paragraphs describing each boys side of the story.

Never saw the point in getting someone to kill ya. If you want it done right, do it yourself.
I personally would kill myself by... hm... (so many choices), er... no, can't decide.
Not that I'd kill myself of course.

Don't forget the possibility of life insurance except in the case of minors, of course.

That is as a motuve against doing it yourself,

And pictures, of course...

EDIT- Well, you had to ruin it didn't you? First Indy posts, so it's not a double post, then my pictures don't work...

Ah, well.

You can get sucked into weird stuff on the internet. Like there was some messed up woman who talked a guy on the chatroom into coming over to fake rape her (how sick do you have to be for that to give you a thrill?) anyway the guy gets the address wrong and tries to fake rape the wrong woman and she almost kills him defending her virtue because she thinks he a real rapist.

If your life is such a failure that you try to kill yourself, how lousy do you feel if you fail at that too? Don't these people have any tall buildings where they live? Instead of going to all the trouble of building a matrix of deceit why not just put your car in the garage and rev up the engine. Or mix up a Drano smoothie? I would probably get fired if I worked at a suicide prevention hotline because I would tell the people that they were stupid and that the world would be better off with one less moron.

I know, I know, I should be more sensitive because some of these people are really ill and need help and if they had possession of their faculties they would never try to kill themselves, but a lot of these kids are just psycopathic losers.

Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!

Seriously though, regardless of age, there are those who really do need supervision on the internet. There is some form of gullibility and desire for escape or access to a different reality that really takes possession of some people. It's scary and sad.

Wow, what a messed up story. I take it the two young gentlemen are no longer friends? God, could you imagine going to school the next day, er rather, next 2/3 years later? It would make you really want to kill yourself. And can draino really kill you? Wouldn't you throw it up first? --- VH16

OT congrats Esq
On topic, Getting someone to do it is easyer than trying it your self. In the US, death by cop is growing. All the guy has to do is point his gun at the cops and chances are high, the will shoot him. A say day for the world.

another reason for parental supervision to be required for children on the internet...it is a sad day for any online community when its members go to such extencive means to facilitate something so stupid. It seems that the number of people crying for attention is growing by an alarming rate. So many messed up homes and children are doing some of the most appaling things we have ever heard of....school shootings, rape on the play ground (sadly it is true), and high school brothels.....makes you wonder if the human race is on a crash course for its own demise by the actions of its more...... exccentric members.

grom, why don't you psycho-analyse them ?

so let me get this straight... B(brendon) sets up a false character as a spy who is a middle aged woman in a chat room, meets A(ashley) in the room.

brendon has a thing about getting himself stabbed-for some twisted reason. so he tries to persuade ashley into doing it for him. and does this by promising sexual relationships with the imaginary middle aged woman..where the web cam comes in i have no idea.

then they two meet up in the middle of nowhere and ashley stabs brendon, the real one. so in reality, the imaginary middle aged woman spy(who is actualy brendon) has ordered ashley to stab a guy called brendon at a designated time under the false promise of sexual relationships..

i get that right?

You could pull a lawsuit out of that somehow, I dunno, I heard some fat chick sued Mcdonalds for millions cause she was so fat she fell off the toilet in their stall and broke her hip. If they can do that, you can sue someone for anything right?? Well, if you are suicidal, take a toy gun (that looks convincingly real) point it at a cop and scream something or pretend your about to shoot. The thing is, it can end one of 2 favorable ways, either you get shot in the face and die, or he could be careful and shoot you in the arm or leg, then you could sue them for shooting you. Of course theres many things that contradict that, technically even though its a toy it is considered a hostile action and the cop has a the advantage of self-defense. But its worth a try
