Firewall "issue"

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Firewall "issue"

It's got more bark than bite but it appears Zone Alarm's newest version 5.0 is causing some irritations. Worse case dceneario...chkdsk on at least WinXP is dead for some people. Also I manually ran chkdsk after injstallation and the process took about 10 minutes where normally it's like a minute and a half.

People are pretty upset on the ZA boards and the Computing.net boards. Still, as I mentioned on one of them with everyone crying wolf it is easy to deduct the probelm is bigger than it really is because how often do people complain when things are working like they should?

I read something about this yesterday too, while researching on my NIS 2002 firewall problem. A lot of people are complaining about ZA these days.

Speaking of which, if you're using NIS 2002 and you downloaded the LU redirector update, be prepared for some nasty surprises. :/

Correct me if Im wrong, cause i've never used it before but isn't zone alarm free?

Mustang - There is a free version of ZA, but the "Pro" version must be paid for, and has more features.

Personally, I stick with version 4.5 (Pro). It works perfectly, and has little overhead.

Still, if you want a free firewall people, the "Kerio" firewall (free) is supposed to be good.
