Three year old girl dies from obesity

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

The main problem is how this country has got so safety conscious and is heading towards becoming a nanny state. It's no longer safe for kids to go outside to the local park, play on the swings, climb trees and generally have their own little adventures. Instead they're encouraged to sit at home watch TV or play videogames and munch on snacks. They're constantly warned about strangers coming to abduct them and cars waiting to run them over, no wonder they'd rather stay inside. It's not just a case of kids eating more and more junk, but also doing less exercise and active playing. It doesn't just churn out lard-arses, it also stunts their social skills.

actually Ed they were almost certainly council estate dross who didn't know any better. What they stuffed her with was prob what they eat themselves. That's just the way it is i the UK, healthy eating is a choice for the reasonably waged only, really.

@taw/ed, so so true. I was talking to my friends the other day about the "fat chavva phenomenon"...I couldn't get my head around how some people on benefits can afford to be so hugely obese. There was a stage in my life when I was forced to claim benefits because of the industry, and I had baillifs knocking on my door every other day. I could barely afford to eat at all. I lost 3 and half stone in 2 months. So I can never understand it when I see hugely obese benefit claimers. My friend pointed 2 things out to me though that I hadn't previously considered...

1. A LOT of people aren't as honest as I was, and are screwing the system by working without paying tax at the same time as claiming benefits. Therefore they have more money to spend on beer and food.

and most importantly...

2. Scarily, for the price of enough salad to feed four people, you can go to discount supermarkets and buy enough crappy-meat beefburgers to feed the same family for over a week. Therefore its cheaper to eat fat than anything healthy.

He's got a point.

Indy, whilst all that looks good, just give me some good old southern food and I'll be happy.

I'll take some sushi to go .

The problem with "junk" or "fast" food is that even when it isn''t full of fat, it's full of sugar. You can't win either way. Home cookin' is the best in my view.

Mmmmmm. Southern style cuisine.

Last Month I was in a little town outside of Greensboro NC. Had breakfast at a little roadside cookhouse on the way to meet a client. Farm fresh eggs sunny side up, side of grits, ham steak with red-eye gravy with biscuits and cornbread. Yum!

@ff

Consider youself among the greatly influenced from advertising. Do you really think those little char marks from the "flame" broilers really make that much difference?
