Words of sympathy from an old spriritual:

Nobody knows the trouble I've seen
Nobody knows but Jesus
Nobody knows the trouble I've seen
Glory Hallelujah

Sometimes I'm up and sometimes I'm down
O yes lord,
Sometimes I'm almost to the ground
O yes, Lord...

Nobody knows the trouble I've seen
Nobody knows but Jesus
Nobody knows the trouble I've seen
Glory Hallelujah

i dont get it?

how is it glory hallelujah casue jesus knows the trouble the preverbial you has seen? i mean its perculiar not hallelujah. Whats Jesus doing spying on me ANYWAY. surely if you're not the one who let jesus into your life so why is he even bothering me? i think its bloody rude and damnright presumptuous of him to hang around ANYWAY. i sure as **** wanna settle some scores with that nosey bastard when i meet him for not minding his own business.

Oh Archie, Archie, Archie.....

In this spiritual hymn, the message is that like anyone in the congregation who has had a lot of suffering and travail, so too has had Jesus.... quite obviously even more so to any who is christian and knows Christ's story.

It is a song of comfort in which those feeling very low and seemingly without a way out of a jam can find solace in what Jesus did for that person to save his soul.

That's the religious message. Note, I am not proselytizing. On the other hand, to those who are feeling particularly down, this song has been a message of uplift to many. ..... Obviously not to you.

<Edit>

Note to all. I put the lyrics in jest to reflect the general oh woe is me tone of this thread. If I have offended anyone's sensibilities by injecting a religious tone to it, my apologies as this was not intended.

This particular spiritual has been used in many comedic situations here in the US and I assumed that it would have the same effect here. As in when people over-react to a situation and immediately go to the singing of this song to prove their lament.

nah mine's going.. er... ok-ish.. since i've only seen 2 hours of it.

your mouse stopped working? why don't you open it up and see how many tonnes of dirt you got stuck between the ball and the roller thingies ?

Post Wed May 26, 2004 7:53 pm

i still think ball mouses are better than the light ones. (getting dirt in the ball area is yet a minor setback) my friend said that its cool cause u can use it on your leg...now really, why would you wanna use your mouse like that. (did i say friend? i meant mortal enemy) my high point of today was hitting him in the eye with a pencil

*Shakes head* Violins, insincere condolences, song lyrics, and mice. Bloody hell! How quickly has this thread gone to spam? I don't know why I'm surprised...

Some days folks just need a sounding board. It may not change anything, but it helps to vent. Well most times
