Battlefield and Halo

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Battlefield and Halo

Well, I have spent the last 2 years playing strategy games and things like operation flashpoint and so forth. So I decided I need to get back in touch with my FPS roots. So I went out and bought Battlefield 1942/Road to Rome/Secret Weapons, also Battlefield Vietnam, and Halo. Anyone prefer any one of these games or has any tips for it? maybe server you frequent or something? So far, in HALO I have gotten to "The Library" and think its really funny how the little floating guy constantly hums while hes flying around. You could be staring down a hallway with 30 flood and hes flyin over you like "hmmm hmm hmmm hmmmm hmmmmmm" . The battlefields (1942) I have managed to play I have really enjoyed, with my favorite maps being Midway, Coral Sea, and Omaha Beach. I had a blast last night flying planes over the allied carrier on coral sea and paradropping down and causing havoc . Vietnam, I would love to play, but I play it on the lowest possible settings and it still lags pretty bad, as soon as an enemy appears i hit a miniscule lag spike and by the time im back im just laying dead on the ground. Though I do love the soundtrack (surfin bird anyone?) and, even though im running it on ultra-tihs graphics I have managed to realize the game is chock full of the whole vietnam atmosphere which is absolutely great.

I love battlefield(well kinda because it lags too much on my comp). I haven't played Halo, only the demo but the demo still rocks.

I have both BF1942 + vietnam, they're both good games. I've only played Halo a little, but I liked it too. I love the strategic element of the battlefield games, where you can communicate with your friends and stage a coordinated attack, raining down bombs/rockets from your planes/helicopters/tanks

on one of the maps, i just sit in the camp and listen to the loudspeakers

u should try half-life....and for multiplayer, get counterstrike, which i think is a mod for half life but im not sure.

ff, yeah I love the loudspeakers on Vietnam "Major bummer! In fact this order was issued by Major Bummer!" and "The pungi stick is not your friend"

Yeah, I love battlefield too. Though it's unlikely I'll be getting Vietnam due to financial reasons, so I'll be saving up for battlefield 2. Halo, well I played the demo and wasn't too impressed, but I suppose it's all about personal preferance.

Homer: All right, pal: where'd you get the sugar for that tea?

Thief: I nicked it when you let your guard down for that split second, and I'd do it again.

Meh you can coordinate attacks only with your friends for they are the only people who will really listen. Everyone els eon Battlfield just runs around trying to kill eachother and trying to do their own thing. Now Wulfram has some good team based gameplay.

I loved Halo. Sounds like you're doing quite well so far. Can't wait for Halo 2 now...

i'd like to try and pick up a tank in a helicopter, i hear the tank can still fire if there is a driver in it when it gets picked up

I haven't tried it myself, but my brother says that if you fire a vehicle's weapon when it's being airlifted, it breaks the cable or something. Makes sense - otherwise the Huey Gunship would be too good - rockets, grenades, machineguns, and a tank providing support fire

I played Halo, beat it, and sighed with relief as I finally realized the repititve gaming was over. It was stil fun, just extremely repetitive. And the last bit of Halo is the funnest part, i think, but I wouldn't want to spoil that for you.

Personaly I love the Battle field games, but on halo it too often turns into fanboy Team Killing mess

When I was In grade school I refered to me and my friends as the stoners who didn't use drugs to get stoned, we were either naturaly that weird and srewed up or we had been awake for 3 days. Beening Awake for 3 days has all the halucinations of drugs.
But its free, well not really, you have to pay for $100 worth of jolt, and red bull.
And the best part is just as Much Brain Damage!!!!

@Jim Groovester
So it's not just me then? I got so bored at one point that I found a trainer and played through the game with invisiblility on as I couldn't be bothered to fight - I was too busy trying to find my way around the very repetitive and identical map areas . Otherwise, nice game, if a little too late on PC. If it came out when it should then everyone would have loved it, rather than polarising popular opinion. XBox gamers loved it because they knew no better .
