yeah sw, at my school you get one day suspension for gum but a tobacco cesation class for use or possion on school grounds, tell me which is worse gum or tobacco if gum is worse tell me how the h*ll it is, does that make sence to anyone because it boggles my mind

(my above statements do not advocate any substance)
suspension is not a punishment untill your parents get a hold of you

@arton, they just don't want the gum to muck up the school. It takes time and money to clean up gum from tables, carpets, etc. It's the one thing they despise the most other than having to accomodate students at all.

they're remodleing this year anyway so whats the difference

besides they don't clean up anyway they just maintain you know lights, windows, etc.

@arton, I guarentee they clean up. It may not be spotless nor a medically sterylized cleaning, but they do clean. And they prefer not to have to clean up gum. If they can limit it to just a few bad kids as opposed to everybody, then they are going to want to do it. And it doesn't matter if the school is going to be remodeled, the precedent is that you don't chew gum now, because they don't want to have to limit your abilities to have it later, when they have a remodeled school to worry about keeping up.

i'm a senior this year anyway so *hopes* i won't have to see the school again (trust me if you had to put up with our Vice P. you would not want to see the school ever again)
