The Temple of Kulkulkan (Mayan name/version for the Aztec's Quetzalcoatl ... similar to what Romans and Greeks did with their pantheon) has 91 steps from base to top. It is a four sided stepped pyramid with a temple structure at the top. Each side has its own steps leading to the top. 91 steps x 4 sides = 364, if you add the top platform/temple level, the total goes to 365 steps. This coincides with the Mayan calendar year.
The 90 foot pyramid's foot print (square) is aligned so that its northeast and southeast corners point to the sunrise at the two solstices (Summer and Winter).
There are more architechtural features that have been designed-in to this construction to take advantage of the sun's paths to create visual effects and opportunities on the temple.
<Edit>
Location of the Kulkulkan pyramid is Chichen Itza. Chichen Itza is in close proximity to Cancun. A nice little resort to which I have never been
on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.
