Make me chief of police, and sod cars - they will use apache gunships, harrier jump-jets, and more rounds of ammo than ever before. Speeding will be a thing of the past, as will those "stinger" strips. A couple of shots from the 25mm cannon will blow the back axle clean off......that'll stop a chase "pronto"

i find it very easy to be British and Italian, although i dare say in the western desert in 1941 I might have had a problem. You've never actually been to Italy have you, iirc, so it's beauty and richness of life are lost on you. Perhaps if you spent a few months with a nice Italian girl in the Tuscan summertime you might feel differently

Not that I like cops too much, but since it's their job to keep the place (any) safe, they should have better gear than lawbreakers, IMO. It's enough that they have more restrictions.

Cops in the US could not get away with that, in our area they have a PT Cruiser and a Mustang due to drug money that was confiscated, other wise they would be stuck with reg police cuisers.

Just thought about something. Even police departments have insurance, at least in the US, but how would they afford to insure this car? one wreck and its history, judging the wrecks they have these days.

Why don't they just use a Ferrari Enzo, (2nd fastest street car in the world)

I cant remember what car beet it... But the other had 0-60 in 3.2 seconds i believe. Yee haw

I wouldn't worry about them actually using it for anything, Italian police aren't noted for their dedication to duty; it's a fashion accessory..

now the Belgian police are a different matter; they invented the waltzer.
