im confused....
I thought ps2, xbox and gamecube where next gen consoles, yet there is still talk of next gen consoles being made, have i missed something?

im confused....
This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Yes you have been missing a lot. There is talk for ages already about the Xbox 2, Playstation 3, new upcoming consoles such as the Phantom and new handhelds such as the Nintendo DS (successor to the Game Boy Advance) and the Playstation Portable (PSP).

if you saw a footie match and then were told about the NEXT footie match, dont be suprised that there might be a NEXT after that too.
Likewise, when we were on the PS1, the Dreamcast and N64, the NEXT generation of consoles were the PS2, the GameCube and the XBox, now they're the current ones, the NEXT generation is the PSP, the Xbox2 and the GBDS.
For the record, phantom's gonna bomb.
The term next generation is talking about the next volley of technology, not a label for a particular set.

Not everyone wants to pay $2000+ to run Halo and other demanding games when they can jsut pay 149 and get a system that can run them.
