I''m glad I don''t live in Barcelona...

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I''m glad I don''t live in Barcelona...

Following on from my "I'm glad I don't live in Florida..." thread, here is another fascinating occurance; a "science experiment" in Spain is having people in Barcelona implated with credit card-like RFID chips so that they can "pay for their drinks more easily" (or something along those lines). Apparently, the chips can't be turned off which is a bit of a worry. The article is here, and it is an interesting (albeit disturbing) read. Orwell here we come!

*Crosses finger* Please tell me it's a joke.

I was more taken in the by whole see in the dark thing. I want thermal eye implants so I don't have to waste time with lights and these so called "electricity bills" that keep coming in the mail. Bah!

I think this speaks more loudly about the "clubbing" mind than it does about our future. BTW, the good writer got the literary reference wrong. George Orwell's book is titled 1984, NOT 1974 *snickers*. Makes me wonder whether the good writer has got all the facts right in the story too.

I noticed that Indy, but I assumed that he was referring to something else; "1974" by LaForge Morwell or something .

Just wait and you'll see headlines on hackers taking money from these walking credit cards. I also think that since it allows you to pay for your drinks more easily, it has a sensor for alcohol content in the blood. While your consumption goes up so does the charges against your radio ID.

But a thought additional, where do the receipts come out of?

I'm going over there then!! Will sit in a bar, point to someone else and say "he's paying". They can charge him without him knowing!!! YAY!
