Write protection

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Write protection

I was wondering if any body knows where I could download a patch or prog. to get rid of write protection. I have tons of old CD's that I bought and now I want to reuse them, but I cant find anything that will let me do it.

CD's??

You do know that you cannot record upon a standard CD huh? I cannot remember all the ins and outs, but basically the laser maps a "image" for want of a better word, on the CD. unless it has the correct properties - such as being re-writable, the "image" is permanent. Using a different dye, they can enable re-writing. I really cannot remember all of the percise details, all i can remember is that 5 years ago i was told that dyes had been made that could enable writing of dvd's
with enough data storage that you could have a film collection on one dvd, instead of just one film. Wonder if its ever gonna happen.

Unless they are re-writeable CDs, then you are out of luck due to the physcial properties of CD-R dics.

You know, its a shame you can't write over a regular CD, because I could then make use of all those AOL CD's they keep mailing out. Rather than making ornaments out of them.

You bring up the AOL trial cd dilemma. They're too small for frisbees, yet they're just the right size for coasters. Or it could be like that commercial with the fish sculpture made of AOL cds. Then some famous dude (i forget) says "You might want to fill that with an old Snoop Dogg CD instead of AOL 9.0 optimized." Then Snoop himself comes in "Now wait just one minizzle."

Bloody AOL. Bunch of expensive bastards who gouge you on prices, fill your computer with spyware, and delude the public into thinking that they have good service *grumble*

Esq, they have to charge a lot, how else are they going to pay for all those CD's they send out ever month that end up in the trash

AOL disks look good in the microwave too . Set it on high (Pic side down) for 5 seconds and watch the show!

don't knock AOL, I'm more than happy for stupid people to pay through the nose for a cr*p ISP because I can then drool over AOL Connie aka former lingerie model Rachel Willis who is a total fittie and keeps ringing me up saying she's got some "speed" and wants to do some "bum games" god only knows what the mad witch is on about.

she has got an excellent pair of pods though.
