Suspected 18 Yr. Old Creator of Sasser Worm Arrested in Germ

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

This kid's timing is about as bad as anything he could have done. The gray area between minor and adult. Yes, he inflicted the virus as a minor, but I'm sure some computers were still being affected (victimized) when he was then an adult. We'll see which way it goes.

Does netsky have some allusion to skynet? Or is it coincidence?

part of its payload is a .exe that runs on startup called "Skynet" an allusion to Netsky itself and of course Terminator III style disruption (in the little sh*ts head)

I'd chop the little b*st*rd's hands off, won't be doing any more hacking then will he?

I obviously forgot all this when I got someone earlier

Taw - Chop his hands off? Back to the 1600's we go!

Given current medical advances, that would not be sufficient. Now days, a little therapy makes it possible to compensate by use of another appendage to compensate for the loss of one. You'll have to chop more than hands off. And, if you remember Hawking, he used his teethe and a pencil at one point.

Actually, if I had the power, I'd hire the guy instead (under proper supervision, of course) and make sure he uses his brain for sth worthwile. I do not believe that having come back from imprisonment (if that happens) he would become a better person. I would prefer to take revenge in such a case.

An idea came to my head and is now desperately searching for brain

Good point Zlo. I'd say that if he is releasable on his own recognizance, there prolly are a few places interested in harnessing his talents. Dr. Solomon used to do that, so did McAfee (one and the same now). I imagine Norton also does it.

holy crap. eighteen? shows how brilliant young minds are.

Shows how brilliance isn't affected by age =p.

Wth is wrong with you people? Some guy messes up your computer, disrupts some hospitals that were vulnerable, messes up some flights, so you want him hung? If you found a $20, would you keep it? Why? 'Cause you can!

Spectre: He's doing something different, so it's not intelligent? Funny how straying from the norm gets you labelled so easily...

Arton: Firing squad? Again, wtf?!

Shift, so its okay to cause people hundreds of millions of pounds of damage without actually having any recompense at all?
Heck - I guess if you don't have a burglar alarm then its your own fault if you get burgled, and the burglar shouldn't be prosicuted?

How do you know the stopping of hospital computers and shutting down of their system didn't actually cost lives too? People may have died, hundreds of millions of pounds (most likely several billions) of pounds in man hours and business is lost - and they should just........

meh - forget it, guess my line of thinking whereby people should be held accountable/responsible for their actions, and the widespread damage it causes....and punished accordingly is all wrong.
