My condolences, pal. It's sad things like this happen, but it's inevitable. I know how you feel, I lost all my grandparents but one. I believe your grandpa had a good life. Just think that when his time comes, this will be the end of suffering. Be strong, friend, pray if you are a believer, and try to be a person your grandpa would be proud of - that would be the best gift from you to him.

I've lost all my grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, siblings, even one of me kids. You never get used to it really, losing family, but as long as they've had good and long lives, then it's a lot easier to bear, believe me.

The repeating lines? Yeah. I guess its a villanelle. I never really paid attention to the nomenclature. A prem is a prem as far as I know.

This one really stuck the first time I heard it so I've remembered it since. And, in fact, it was read as an eulogy so I claim absolutely no originality of thought or selection. But it is a heck of statement.... imo.

@Taw....
You've lost a child? Holy cow. I had no idea. That's just awful beyond words. Sorry to hear it.

I just found out something new about my grandfather's condition today. He has lesions on his lungs and his kidneys. But here's the kicker. They've been there since February, and his doctors didn't know what they were at the time. It also doesn't help that my grandfather has had emphysima for, I don't how long. They would have been terminal anyway in February, but I would've liked to have known about it when those lesions were discovered in the catscan. I swear to God, these bastards ought to let you and your family know if you've got lesions, or suspect that you've got these things, not wait until it smacks you in the face. This is why I don't trust physicians of any kind.
