This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Now now Esqy,

Ya really have to tweak my nose like that all the time?

Future reference: Spin, in Me, all you have to do is hold down the left control key at boot-up and you will go into to boot-up options from which you can select safe mode. You don't have to press F8 repeatedly like a retard and run the risk of a key malfunction error as suggested by someone else in this thread.

Is your viruscan up-to-date? I know it is a stupid and possibly insulting question but just wondering. No offense intended. Sometimes, an anti-virus data file update also then necessittates an update change to the AV engine as well. Your AV might not be completely updated in which case an old virus may be able missed.

Which version of McAfee Pro are you running? 7? 6?

Magic Bullet the f*kker! kills all known boot-sector viruses - dead.

Esq and Mustie will know what the Magic Bullet is. Don't you just miss Doc Sol's so much?

I have Ver. 6.0 on my VirusScan. Esq, you might as well be speaking Klingon or something when your talking about that CLI and crap. I think a friend of mine has a program that lets you delete stuff that windows wouldn't normally let you delete, I'll see if that works, if not i'll get back to you. Thanks for the help.

Sorry, Ed. I'll try to remember to stop bagging you poor unfortunates in the future .

Taw - Ah yes, I remember good 'ole Doc. Solomon. There was an era we thought would never end... .

Spin - CLI = Command-line Interface. It's the old "C:\>fdisk" interface. It's still very useful. Let us know if you have any problems after using this mysterious app from your equally mysterious friend .

Spin....

I upgraded from 6 to 7. That's because the AV engine in 6 had to be updated alot along with the DAT files. AV engine updates forces you to reboot.

I'm not saying you did but sometimes, the AV engine update in 6 needed a revision update because it omitted a prior virus - breed (?)prevention routine. This MIGHT have happened to you.

Since I've gone to 7, no engine updates, just DATs. You might want to consider that, altho you'll have to shell out some dough to do it.

On the other hand, there is that free AV which is getting good reviews, AVG Anti-Virus .

Only if you can't get a copy some other way .

Maybe you should contact Uncie Taw on the private channel .

Hmmmm. That's odd. AVG is not for free anymore. You only get a 30 day trial version. Anyone know if I am looking at the wrong site?

Post Fri May 07, 2004 5:19 pm

@Indy, AGV They are saying Freeaddition is still free. 7.0 is the trial version for 30 days.
