Hitman: Contracts

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

The graphics and gameplay are supposed to be very good. Stop holding out on us!Tell us more!

ok, here, its VERY good, I personally didnt play the last 2 much, except for Hitman 2: Silent Assasin, which I played some of. The graphics are the same as in 2 but just by a margin better, for example, now when you shoot someone in the face, blood shoots out the back of the head, splatters all over the surface behind the guy then oozes down the wall as he collapses. The missions are almost Grand Theft Auto'esque. You have a huge area to work with, multiple approaches, and plenty of hardware. You have lots of choices on how to proceed with a given mission, like for example, in mission 2, The Meat King. Theres a huge meat fetish you know.........sex party going on, with lots of hookers and guys in masks. Its all in a meat factory, the first time I did it, I approached carefully and blasted the **** out of everything in my way. The second time, I dressed up as the butcher I knocked out in the intro, then walked in, after which I dressed up as a waiter, and delivered poison through the chicken the meat king ordered. The third time, I chose to be really stealthy, so I camped outside the entrance waiting for something to happen, and, luck be a lady, a guy goes to answer the call of nature behind some crates.

I walk up behind him and strangle him, dress up as him , him being a guest. The entrance has a body check, so I dropped all my guns except the Garrote Wire and the Paralyzing syringe and got in, after which, I made my way to the restroom and disposed of a lawyer, who was carrying a silenced pistol, after which I made my way to the roof and sniped the meat king from a small window. So its just an example of how many approaches you have to any given mission, you get a rating at the end of the mission, and out of the twelve missions, if you get a Silent Assassin rating (perfect, only 2 bullets should ever leave your gun) you get a new weapon, like the 3rd level, if you get Silent Assassin you get dual gold desert eagles or for example the meat king level, Silent Assasin nets you dual mini-uzi's. So the missions are extremely wide open to many many approaches. Each mission can be played on 3 difficulty levels (Normal, Expert, Professional), theres 12 missions in all, each mission has Normal Weapons, Hidden Weapons, and Secret Weapons.

So as you can tell, lots of replay value here, I been playing the meat king mission over and over trying to get perfect for those dual uzi's . Theres plenty of weapons, including brutal ones, like the meathook, shovel, and fire poker. Many of the weapons you find during missions are actual hitman'like hardware but you can improvise aswell, kill a cook and grab a kitchen knife and so forth. The interesting thing about this game is it can be completely completed without firing a single bullet and relying solely on your environment and special attacks, like a guy in a swimming pool you have to kill, he floats on his back and you sneak up and drown him. Or, for those of you who have seen the movie the brutal mission where you suffocate a man with a pillow while his wife sleeps next to him. The audio, especially the music is incredibly good, the guns all make fairly genuine sounds (shooting an ak sounds like shooting an ak) and most of the voices are very well done, especially hitman himself.

There is some problems, the camera is somewhat flaky, the third person one is fine, but the first person one tends to push your weapon out of view while you move, and the first person weapons dont look as detailed as they do in third. But all in all I think its the best Hitman yet, Im like addicted to it, which is a first for me and the hitman series. An honorable mention is the various modes, I havent tried them yet, but you activate them via cheats. Theres things like slowmo mode, matrix mode , also interesting things like boxing mode and nailgun mode. I personally havent tried them yet but im sure their probably pretty fun. The rag doll physics flippin rule, nothing like shooting a guy in the head then having him fall over a railing and slowly slide over and fall onto a dance floor of a crowded party (thats evil man).

PS: Speaking of evil, this game is the most violent, evil, and gory offering of hitman yet, blood is plentiful, even so much so that when you kill someone a puddle of it realistically slips along the terrain, and many of the attacks are really brutal, like the meathook to the spinal cord, or taking a meat cleaver, grabbing someone and repeatedly chopping at the top of their head with it. And about evil, oh yeah, in one mission, at the beginning you poison a sick horse just so it doesnt make enough sound to reveal your position, hes my kind of guy

It's funny as much as we like to think we are civilsed race, most of us still love a meat hook to the spine.

Sounds interesting, but not really my sort of game. This "ultra-realism" doesn't really work for me.

I love the hitman series, it's fun being the bad guy, and having style while at it. All I have is the demo of Hitman: Contracts and the replayability factor is immense. I played the demo of Hitman 2 about 20 times. I also love the AI in it, it's very well designed.

It's an axe, I use it to...hack at people

Its sooooooo not realistic, you have a health bar like in all games as do the bad guys, this is the kind of game with real world weapons and unreal implementation, like counter strike has authentic weapons . Just download the demo and you can really get a feel for it, its like real, but like, not real. Its got style oozing out of every pixel, everything in the game looks stylistic and cool in its own sense . But hey who remembers the first level from Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, the assault on the italian mob bosses mansion, that is such a damn cool level.

PS: guys my bad, its not a meathook to the spine, I would have liked it to, but actually, he takes the hook end of it and sticks it into the front of their throat, then tugs on it a little and throws them over his back.
