Might want to watch out for an email like this:

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

You will if you keep opening emails from unknown sources! I despair of you at times ff.

Post Wed Apr 28, 2004 3:16 pm

ff, do you actually read anything that gets posted here? netsky is a mass-mailer worm that infects address books then mails itself off to everyone in that address book and then those peoples address books and so on and so on, and it creates random sender names and domains based on the address books it's been in. if you're getting this message in your inbox, it's your AV sware doing it's job, telling you that it killed a virus trying to get into your system via e-mail. so no need to worry..

but don't go opening dodgy e-mails. and no Kazaa-ing

I get this email all the time. But I checked my logs and I sent about 20 virus laced emails out not to people I know I scanned and I have no virus though. Except my Trojan which I was stupid enough to click the wrong thing and install it on my computer but it doesnt matter its a RAT

One time I got a message from [email protected] that had a virus in the attachment. I never read things that I don't know what they are.

Learned from the best, Taw and Esq, deffenantly don't touch mailer or returns addressed. I get those every week, but they go straight to the trash. ....Ok, so that was sucking up a little, but you guys do have it togeather.

Of course he doesn't read anything here Taw! If he did, would he still be having as many problems as he is?

Trying to win some "brownie points", eh Final? Ok, what have you done to your PC this time?

Man, I don't open anything that I don't trust. That includes e-mail from services I know I DIDN'T subscribe to.

Final - You old types... you love that "touch wood" adage don't you?

Mee - I'm pleased to hear that. See, Taw? Someone is listening!

Also watch out for ANY email with an attachment!

Post Thu Apr 29, 2004 12:13 pm

@Eskie: I've been avoiding e-mails like that ever since I opened my Yahoo! account. That would've been about 4-5 years now.

Watch out for any email with any attachment that you haven't been told by a reliable person that you will be receiving it - this includes extension, filename and source email address.

Those mass mailing worms clone addresses so that it looks like it came from elsewhere.......so cause it comes from someone you "know" doesn't mean it has actually come from them if you get my drift. Heck - i have just emptied my trash folder on MSN, and it was filled with "thankyou for registering" and "Re:Information" as well as "Reetails", "Re:Hot pics" - oh no, that last one was real

Just deleted emails from poeple on this site, purely cause there is no reason for them to email me for starters....and secondly - cause they are using the wrong email addy if they do (email for MSN is totally different from my usual one, which is filtered before it gets even near my inbox )

I don't think it needs repeating anymore. You are either able to grasp the simple premise of the fact that there are 2-3 mass mailing worms constantly emailing around - and that they like your inbox....hence why they all have tempting attachments.....

or you have the apptitude for learning/understandgin of a blind and deaf donkey with haemorroids

Basically - this is the muchos numerous thread like this, and we cannot have a new one everytime someone gets a new variant of the same worm.
