Best Video game cutscene.

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Best Video game cutscene.

This is a topic dedicated to the cool cutscenes in between play in video games. Tell about your favorites, funniest, gorey-est, or just plain wierdest. Anyway, my favorite: In Metal Gear Solid: The twin snakes for GC, I have 2 in a tie for 1st. 1st one is in a cell, in which you meet a guy, who is chief of a company, condenamed DARPA. The DARPA chief suddenly dies of what appears to be a heart attack. Soon after, Snake hears someone getting thier butt kicked outside the cell. He goes out, and sees the gaurd on the floor, naked, and his gun missing. A woman appears behind him. "Don't move!" she says, pointing a FAMAS rifle at him. "You gonna shoot me, rookie?" Snake replies. "Careful, I'm no rookie!" Says the woman. "Liar! Your eyes wander, and there's no confidence in them- the eyes of a rookie. Is the first time you ever pointed a gun at a person? You're hands are shaking." Says Snake. He turns around and grabs the rifle, pointing it at her chest. She grabs the mussle, hits Snake in the shoulder, and ends up behind him, aiming the rifle at him. "You've never shot a person, have you? You haven't even turned the safety off, rookie!" Says snake. "Open that door." She commands. "Why?" Snake asks. "So we can get the hell outta here!" "Looks like we'll be a little delayed." After, there's a fight against a good 10 gaurds. After they're dead, the woman says: "Thanks for the help." And runs out of the door. "Wait!" He says, running after her. Then there's a highly exaggerated sequence showing a lovely view of her behind. (Go Konami!) Snake runs into the hall, and sees her calling up the elevator. The then fires, and misses. Then she fires in a circle, aiming at nothing in paticular. Snake runs backward, and does a one-handed cartwheel, dodging bullets all the way, running to the safty of a doorway. He spins from the doorway, aiming at the elevator as it goes down. Too late. Anyway, post your favorite here. I'll post the other one once I have time.

Squall and Renoa's dance scene in Garden. Best yet! FF8

Um, we've already discussed this. Just thought I'd mention it . It's actually ironic that Final was the first one to post in this thread, as he was the one who created the previous thread on this topic (see link) .

Edit: Had to make the post more intelligible. Damn cheap keyboards at work!

I'm sorry Esq, I didn't quite get that.

Anyway, my favourite cutscene, well not really a cutscene, is probably the intro to Total Annihilation - wanton destruction to some excellent music.

TET - It's those damn cheap work keyboards; they suck! I was merely pointing out that we have already discussed "The Best Videogame Cutscene" in another thread by Final.

I always liked the the cutscenes from Thief 2. While not technologically exciting, they are artistically gratifying and brilliant at setting the mood, which is really what a cutscene is meant to do.

i like the old intro to freelancer, and the intro to mechwarrior 3

Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance had a nice intro. Also a great, not really a cutscene but more of a in-game scene is in Splinter Cell 1. In Kalinatek when you find that engineer Ivan. I wont reveal it, play and find out . Its really funny, Micheal Ironside's voice is so perfect for Splinter Cell.

I love the cutscenes in TimeSplitters 2, they're done with a great half-real half-cartoon graphic style, and they're excellent at introducing each new level with its own atmosphere

Cheesiest cutscene has to be one in Devil May Cry. Dante (the cocky hero) is about to fight a giant demonic bird, and his pre-fight taunt is "Flock off, feather face"

I like the cutscene in Metal Gear Solid 2:Sons of Liberty, when Vamp sucks all the blood out of that guy, very gory...

@Esq, you know how it is with us older folk, the memory is the first to go.

Was that a crack about my slowly impending senility, Final?

Nope, stickly mine. As, and I think *Hits head* you are about 20 away from that yet. No, My memory an't what it use to be, so please bear with me. It was like that other thread I posted, but you mentioned it was done back in Feb. Some days I have a hard time remembering my name. *Now what was I fixxing to do?*
