Greece Banned Games

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Greece Banned Games

Quite a while ago, did you know in Greece its illegal to own games, game systems or game consoles? This is possibly the most dramatic step against video game violence ever taken by a country. While it is healthy in some ways its been there a while now. This explains why you never see anyone from Greece on games.

They've corrected it now, so only GAMBLING games are not allowed.

I don't know about IQs but I remember a report that said that video gaming dramatically improves visual acuity, accuracy and reaction time so that video gamers are able to take in and make note of a lot more visual detail very quickly. There was discussion about this being prototypical training for future activities, including industry and warfare.

Exactly...NOTHING to do with gambling, the government just made a mistake...which is quite common there

wouldn't that suck if games actually were banned?

Some militaries use video games to improve hand Eye coordination ot the solders driving tanks, ect. Now that would be fun, practice on netendo and then drive a tank. That would be a hoot.

Then some of the people around here should be conscripted at once!

@Finalday: When I was with the U.S. Army for a little while, we used Super Nintendos to practice shooting with the M16A2 rifles. Basically, we had a controller in the shape of an M16A2 pluggged in to the SNES. The game that was used was primitive, but very, very, accurate. It was like Duck Hunt, but you actually had to use proper technique as you would in real life with the M16, otherwise your shots would be all over the place. Just like in real life.

I wished they had had them way back when I was in, only did middle of the road.
