Why do machines get given female names?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Usually, a mechanic can't really develop a love/hate relationship with a male machine.... and then there was.....H.A.L. *shudder*

Ah yes H.A.L. Now there was a friendly machine!

I liked him. He was hard done to. Wasn't his fault.

Post Tue Apr 13, 2004 5:04 pm

Yep. He was insane in the mainframe! P

no he was not. he was given conflicting instructions to keep the mission objective secret (by the NSA) which conflicted with his core program to divulge all relevant information concerning the mission to the crew. This made him unable to function correctly and he became in human terms psychotic. So ner.

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do.
I’m half crazy all for the love of you.
It won’t be a stylish marriage
I can’t afford a carriage
But you’ll look sweet
Upon the seat
Of a bicycle made for two.

*sniff* They didn't have to kill him like that. *sniff*

@taw: *claps* you beat me to it

basically like this:

If A = X
then
end
Else
Dont end
endif

If A <> X
then
end
Else
Dont end
Endif

Yes i relise this would never work, but it gives you the idea, just imagine those two subs running at the same time

I'm aware of that Taw! I was just trying to make a humorous pun, and you had to ruin it. Thanks .

S.A.L.9000 was a little better, and in the end, H.A.L. did the right thing.

My comps have female names because I prefer to associate myself with women.

My computer has a different name depending on what mood I'm in.
