This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Not so much a car, but my dream vehicle for now, in all realistical aims (otherwise it would be a space shuttle ), is this fine specimen.

Its a soviet T-72 main battle tank, an old stalwart. Although a little sluggish, it comes up trumps with an impressive turning circle, and high horse power engine. Due to its dimensions, manouvering can be a little tricky, although this vehicle performs well under adverse conditions, and in off terrain circumstances.

Its 125mm main cannon, and 44 metric ton weight ensures that you will not have to be stuck in traffic too long, although it does limit the roads that you may utilise. However, the ability to take a 60% incline means that you can take many an off road route.

Unfortunately, the MPG of this vehicle leaves alot to be desired, and so the tree hugging green lobby might end up chaining themselves to your front fender - but fear not - for the 840BHP engine can easily tow them around. Its fun for all the family, as little Jimmy can even take up position on the 7.62mm machine gun (decomissioned of course - wouldn't want the little blighter to cause damage). The only other major drawbacks are the noise and "white finger syndrome" - which ensures premature deafness and permanent tooth filling replacements are necessary
Price tag (fully decommisioned) is around 30-60k depending upon inspection of the arches for corrosion of salt water from the winter gritters.

p.s - all meant in jest, although i would like a tank one day.........as a toy

@Chips- you can actually buy tanks. They don't have guns of course, and they eat fuel like anything and they cost a ton, but they're still tanks.

Solar all the way-

"With a top speed of 90mph (56 mph without battery assistance, The Honda "Dream" Solar car is the fastest and most famous solar car in the world."

This is my favourite. Apart from ye olde Panzerkampfwagon of course

If your going to post pics keep them at a reasonable size, i'll delete any that are over 800X600 so consider yourself warned.

Anyway my favourite piece of hardware of the moment is the Mercedes SLR McLaren.

Supercar performance but you can still do the shopping in it, providing it doesn't get nicked or side swiped but a rusty datsun. Seriously though, I have a taste for performance cars that can still be driven in heavy traffic without acting like a bush pig on a bad acid trip. Plus the Merc Mac is a brilliant 'small penis compensator', you really can't go wrong.

@Chips
Personally, I much prefer the GPO Uralvagonzavod T-90 main battle tank

Running at 18.06 hp/ton, the T-90 has more advanced equipment than the T-72. Whilst still retaining the 125mm cannon and coaxial machinegun, it also has better armour, a Refleks 9M119 AT-11 SNIPER laser-guided missile and TShU-1-7 Shtora-1 optronic counter measures system.
Not only does the T-90 have a four-stroke V-12 piston multi-fuel diesel engine, but it contains an easy-to-assemble fjording system allowing the tank to run as deep as 5 metres below the surface of the water.
It's also fitted with the NBC protection system and mounted mineclearing equipment.
Plus, APFSDS rounds are expensive, so the remote-controlled Utjos NSVT 12.7mm machinegun can solve a lot of traffic problems without you having to spend thousands on shells.

If I calculated the price right, you'd be looking at no more than 400k apiece.

EDIT: Why doesn't anyone say how to put pictures on here in an idiotproof way?

@Wiz

Better save some extra for the fuel costs!

Post Mon Apr 05, 2004 7:51 pm

1. Ferrari Enzo
2. Jaguar XJ220 Road Car
3. BMW Nazca C2
4. Pagani Zonda C12s
5. Cadillac Cien
6. Ford GT
Espescially that BMW, which is one fast car, looks pretty cool too.

just what is the point of these "dream" cars when most of us suffer from a combination of restrictive speed limits, traffic jams, outrageous fuel and insurance costs and limited parking facilities?

I've had performance cars and while they're very nice for posing and pulling totty, that's it, and the epehemeral glamour soon wears off when you've been done yet agin for clocking 150mph + down your local motorway; that's on top of using nearly a tank of petrol a day just going to work and back and having the thing keyed and/or broken into on a regular basis.

My next car will be a Peugot 206GT and that's quite enough for me thank you. I currently drive a Renault Clio 16v and meh biatch drive a Ford Focus Zetec. If there is a car I would get realistically I'd get a Humvee because I like the utilitarian shape and styling. but the appalling fuel economy and difficult parking puts me off, also it's more than i want to pay tbh; more to life than cars.
