FL isn't really a "girl" game, is it? Space sims never are. I'm pleased you play it and contribute here, sw, as well as the others I know of like malystryx (haven't seen much of her lately, hope she's ok) I tried to get my daughter who's a big sci-fi nut interested, but she prefers rot like Everquest and DAOC so she can "wang" around pretending to be an elf. i once tried to get her to play FS2 but she couldn't grasp targeting and shooting straight. Thank heavens I have a Monkey as well, to pass my decades of starfighter skills onto.

I once foolishly attempted to show my wife how to play TvX which was an unmitigated disaster. I leave her alone with the Sims Hot-Date, online gambling, eBay and MSN-ing with Locutus.

I think Space sims are more of a girls game than FPS like Max Payne 2. Even then there are girls that play them.

But come to think of it, this post has been dug up millions of times.

I'm not happy with it. Re-reading after I came back, there were great clumps i decided were trite, pretentious, verbose and unnecessary. Trying to put into words what I can say with a single inspired image is very difficult for me, I'm not a wordsmith. However I shall labour on.

The reason men think it's weird for a girl to play games, is because girl players are in the extreme majority. I incredibly doubt more than 10% of gamers are female.
