Interesting idea but I don't see how it can work.

I don't think the kind of one-upmanship that goes on in RYOC can be accounted for in a mod. You're going to have to have set limits which means that the options available for weaponry, ships, space-time technologies, etc. will not be expandable in-game.

Everyone will have to play from the same set list of options. I thought that RYOC
was entertaining to players because there were no limits (well, except for non-God-mode).

I mean that we could let the player choose what faction they want to play as,it would kinda be like Freeworlds they could fight in the Utopian wars, the NGSE-RILMSund War, The NGSE-Neo-Draconia Coldwar and The Great Unity War
Yet there is no limits they could be a Simple Grunt in The NGSERSF or a Admiral in the Aranic Space Force
And evreything is free
You could pilot a simple NGSE LF-2 or a Lerthinian (or whatever that species is callled)Battleship

I assume you mean modding Freelancer ... well there may be more possibility in this idea than you may at first think.

Accushot is creating a program that actually simulates randomness in the FL game. But it has expanded in potential from there, it will likely be possible to purchase stations and have factions of your own. As long as you have one person hosting it for everyone in Off-topic, it could work under set guidelines. Client mods would have to be regularly updated to reflect changes, but if it was somehow automated we could have a build your own empire type of Universe.

cool idea too by the way, i would enlist, but cant because of two reasons:
1) im helping tempest studios with freelancer:Fallen Universe
2) all my aranic weaponry and ships are going to be included in that mod

And its the Aranic Navy by the way.
