Favourite holliday destination

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Favourite holliday destination

Since the weather is getting better (nearing 20 degrees (celcius)) I'm getting that holliday fealing again and keep finding myself drifting off to places better then my 5-by-5 D.Y.Z. appartment and my office.

I'm thinking of Spain, Costa del Sol/Brava. Been to Barça once or twice, but always daytrips. I wanna spend a bit longer there. Also I've been to Torremolinos, way down south of Spain. It's beautifull there, even in Febuary, a bit cold for that place that time of year.

I thought France was nice, but only the nature and the beaches, not the people.

I'm curious about Italy, I know from pictures and Taw that it's great, but I haven't been there so I think that's my next destination.

What about you guys?

I must be one of the few who craves not the sun and sand places. Give me mountains, wildlife, forests, vales, snow and skiing! (but without anyone else there, skiing with NO one else ). I really HATE beaches....sorry, no i don't hate beaches at all - i LOVE them, its the idiots and arseholes they attract that keeps me away. I really don't understand why people spend hundreds, or even THOUSANDS of pounds/dollars to go and lie on a towel on a patch of sand about 4 ft by 8ft, surrounded by lots of other heaving, fat, smelly, sweaty people. Its my idea of hell, and even though you might see the odd "fittie" - i would rather go round eastern Europian cities, and Russia too.

Top destinations for me are:

Canada
Russia
New Zealand
Alaska
Northern Europe (sweden, finland), Eastern Europe (Chezk, Hungary etc), and China as well (not europe obviously).

I have alot more strange destinations choices, but they don't involve beaches at all..... .Should be a bit of a giveaway that i am a Massive Michael Palin travelling challenge program fan! - although i have only seen three (round the world in 80days, Pole to Pole and Round the pacific Rim!).

I'd love to go to Australia or Japan. Australia just for it being Australia and Japan for it being totally different from where I live now.

@Heltak

So.... Is there ever a time when Scotland is NOT on your mind? ... Not that there's anything wrong with that....

@Nick:

I'd like to go to Tuscany in Italy. I'd rent a car and do a lazy driving tour.

I've been through most of Northern France but I've never been in the South so I know
I've missed a lot there too. I'd like to spend a week in Madrid just to see all the museums. They have an incredible collection of art there.

I've also missed out on getting to the Netherlands. I've been as close to it as Antwerp but never got across the border.

AND, I'd actually like to drive around Iceland.

I'd just kill for a break from homework right about now.

If you all are looking for a nice vacations spot this time of year, one with crime, danger, corn, work and rollercoaster weather; Ohio is the place for you!

Signature? What's that?

I just hate hot weather, or warm weather.

I'd go to northern Canada where its nice and cold AND the locals can speak English. Or French, but I think I can cope with that.

Within Australia my favourite spots are the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, any of the local snow fields (in New South Wales and Victoria), though Perisher in NSW is a hot spot for poon tang. and Sydney is a cool place to spend a bit of time. The great ocean road in Victoria is a fantastic spot or I should say spots, because there are so many great places to stop. Lorne used to be my favourite until it got over populated by yuppies and other rich knobs.

I've been to Britain once, Bath and Edinburgh were my fav spots and London was a buzz for a small town boy like myself. I might head up north and see a bit of asia in the next few years.

EDIT: and before you ask, yes it does snow in parts of australia, granted it's not very good snow but it does provide a suitable skiing platform.......though some years...well let's just say that ski's stop pretty quick when you hit a grassy spot.
