Which would you choose?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Which would you choose?

Here's a tough question I posed to some of my friends. They all agreed this is difficult decision to make, but one that can reveal a bit about a person. Just for fun, of course:

Would you rather have $1,000,000 or be given a spot on the next space shuttle and take a trip to the moon?

It's obvious what the benefits of a million bucks are, but it would never buy you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to actually travel to the moon; to be able to point up at and tell your friends "I've been there."

So, which would you choose?

No question. The money.

fook space, give me the cash. Do i get it all at once or in stages?

Post Wed Mar 31, 2004 1:11 pm

Erm, dam hard, but methinks the money. Mind you, if its US dollars and not Pounds sterling, then its only 500k english pounds, at which point....hmmm....probs still the money, although i would need some serious thinking time. Sod it, space I would earn money by doing the talks, interviews and articles, as well as selling my story about having sex in space with a female astronaught

Take the space flight, hands down. The money would only last a few years anyway.

I'd take the money hands down. You can do alot with a million bucks, the mood would only give you some nice pictures to get framed.

If it was Mars and not the moon I would pick it though.

I've wanted to go to the moon since I was 10 but i'd still take the cash.

Then again....think of the endorsement job opportunities when you got back....it's more than possible that you'd be able to have both. Could you imagine the amount of companies that would love to sign you up to an advertising campaign after being the first man on the moon in 35 years? Hell you may even make more than a million from ad contracts.

The trip to the moon. Money is only a transitory element of this life, and fundamentally doesn't matter if you believe there's something afterward. But a trip to the moon is something you would cherish for time and all eternity: the awe that you feel, the pure excitement of getting off the planet you call home, the nice picture frames .

Ya know, I'm only having these wacked out philisophical thoughts cuz I'm tired. If I wasn't tired, I'd pick the money every time.

@Mustang: After the trip? You could clear $1 mil. before you go up, then who knows how much after.
The real cash would be made on the Moon itself. It's all about product placement, man. "this is one small step for man, one huge step for Crest Toothpaste. Yes Crest Toothpaste folks, for that fresh clean feeling." *proceeds to whip out a tube from spacesuit just as foot hits surface*

I'd take the shuttle, that is, unless you added another zero >:-)

I'd take the moon, than write a book about my experience and how I turned down the money to go. By the time you make the rounds doing book signings and being on 24 hour news channels you'd make that million back easy.

Now that's thinking for ya.

The Trip, By far, as it has most probably been said, the edormements would be worth millions, not to mention how much money you could make by inventig stuff up there
