Memorial in Honour of Worth Whitcomb "Warlord Bob"

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Forgive my lateness, and WLB definitely deserves something far better than my Dylan Thomas copy-and-pasted ripoff, but I guess this is fitting:

And Death Shall Have No Dominion
Dylan Thomas

And death shall have no dominion.
Dead men naked they shall be one
With the man in the wind and the west moon;
When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,
They shall have stars at elbow and foot;
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.

And death shall have no dominion.
Under the windings of the sea
They lying long shall not die windily;
Twisting on racks when sinews give way,
Strapped to a wheel, yet they shall not break;
Faith in their hands shall snap in two,
And the unicorn evils run them through;
Split all ends up they shan't crack;
And death shall have no dominion.

And death shall have no dominion.
No more may gulls cry at their ears
Or waves break loud on the seashores;
Where blew a flower may a flower no more
Lift its head to the blows of the rain;
Though they be mad and dead as nails,
Heads of the characters hammer through daisies;
Break in the sun till the sun breaks down,
And death shall have no dominion.

apologies for my lateness,

I've wondering which one is "Warlord Bob" the one Lancerians I saw. I never know much about him but I believe He kindest prove most Lancerians loves & mourn for him

I'm diggin up some info, I believe he's fighting past 5 years, since grade five.

"...out of my nose. I hyaven't had a nosebleed since 5th grade and this one is particularly troublesome. It all started a little over a week ago when we had some DRY air. In the last few days it's gotten worse and to frustrate matters farther my platelets are low due to chemotherapy . I am typing this with kleenex plugs in my nose . Any ideas?"

His nightmare come true
"Hopefully I'll stay home for a while now!"
Nevertheless, he really is going home now, He's our young warlord in way to heaven.

farewell my dear Admiral
farewell Warlord Bob
farewell to heaven

Amen

Oh, dear Lord...I remember when he sent me an email, asking about my having undergone Chemotherapy. He seemed so interested in hearing how I turned out, and I could only tell him that I didn't actually have cancer, but something less serious. But I wished him "best of luck." And that's all. That's all I did, was wish him luck. And that was it, he said no more. God...my God...Worth, is it? May you forever rest in peace, friend.

And the ripples of time shall never be dampened, and will forever be remembered, forever talking, forever affecting, Forever loved.

I'm incorporating a memorial into the Freelancer:Fallen Universe MOD, there will be a capital ship base in New York near manhattan called the Timeship W. Riley.
Orillion is also incorporating a base called 'Worth' in one of the new tau systems.
I bet that there will be hundreds more memorials in honour of Worth, he was a loved person

I may have missed an earlier post, but I just noticed that Warlord Bob became an admiral/moderator.

Signature? What's that?

It was a posthumous rank increase to honor his memory. It was requested in the Site Suggestions & Feedback forum.

I can say i really didn't know him, just saw his user name on a couple of the threads. I'm sure he was a great person.
We must not think of dead meaning never returning. Death is only the soul leaving the body to reach a higher realm.

Godspeed WB, Jagged

Im... knocked senseless by this blow. I never knew him; I havent found any of his posts; but I think that he was a good friend. I think I speak for all of Eagle Utopia and the Griffin Clan when I say: Rest in Peace, May the Archangel Seraphim Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel carry you to Heaven's Throne and may you bow to God Himself. God... S p e e d, friend. Im just sorry I wasnt there for you.

funnily enought I was thinking about him very recently as we used to correspond a great deal at this time of year, having a shared interest in high-velocity ballistic projectiles.

It is very weird that I found this. I just was listening to a song and it made me think of Worth so I typed up his name in the search engine hoping to find his obtuary. I was a friend of his. Not a very close one. No, I was just a friend. But, I've never dealt with anyone's death as hard as I did his. Every six months I pause on the Ninth day...Usually I end up crying a bit. But sometimes it isn't a sad sort of crying because I know Worth's in a better place.

I did indeed attend his funeral. If his sister Meryn hasn't seen this, I bet she would be proud of the friends he had who hadn't even officially 'met' him. I'm so grateful to the memorial to him. I wanted to show my boyfriend the guy who I had thought was so great. And now..I can show him that. He can see for himself by all the comments, of the way everything was written; that Worth was a young man to be admired. Thank you.

How does it feel to be so high? And are you happy? Do you ever cry?

I was surprised to read your comment, after all this time. Truely to say, Thank you.

The Family was notified of the memorial's existance, and I did get a mail back thanking me for the work (which thanks also must go out to Kimk, Eraser and Bargib, and did) Its been over 2 years since his passing, and still sometimes I still think of him, his comments, and his lively spirit on the forums here, hhis sister also registered here, and gave personal thanks.

suffice to say,, to you too, His Spirit lives on, and so do we.

*sigh* Sorry to grave dig a bit, but I can't beleave it's been over 2 years since WLB passed away.

I reread the memorial, it was very well done.

*reflects on the past*

@Dick,

You know what's missing from this? How we found out in the first place. The message to Sir Spectre from Worth's Mom.

Does anyone recall where SnS posted it?
