I War 2:Edge of Chaos
No game is as huge as Eve Online. But I War 2 feels really big without having to resort to a million jumpgates like in X2 (which makes it feel kind of small in a way). It has a really nice interface... not as streamlined as Freelancer, but very nicely done (nice touch for me was using the joystick hat to navigate ship menus). So it has a real sense of being in space, great interface, joystick support, true-ish Newtonian physics or a simplified flight model (whichever you prefer), graphics that still look good today, trading and pirating, and the ability to mod.
Anyway, those are my impressions. The game isn't perfect but it does some of the things well that other games fell a bit short on. Have others played it? What did you think?
