Why can''t they allow game download?

Okay I really wanna buy Freelancer, but I don't have a car. Living in US CA, that pretty much means I can't go anywhere. Why don't they allow file download for games!? I pay them money and they let me download the game. Full stop, simple as that. But why isn't anyone offering this service. Or am I forced to go look for a pirated copy, just so I can play the game? This is stupid.

I don't suppose you have access to a credit card either, because it could come to you from an online store.

If you have the money then why dont you just order it online and have it delievered to your house. If that doesnt work send you parents with some cash and have them pick it up for you.

Fl Has a marking feature for the CD so you can not make a achive copy, so I would imagine that downloads would be out too. Too many ppossiblities of making bootleg copies

I don't trust downloading some games, Bad downloads, currupt copies and trying to get it a second time may cause questions.

I hear Valve have a similar service called Steam which is riddled with bugs and errors. It may be that the service is unsustainable and too difficult to manage properly. Computers rarely work in the situations some customers get themselves in, meaning an awful lot of human beings is required to provide acceptable support.

At the end of the day though, if all else fails, download a warez copy and recompensate Microsoft by buying something expensive that you will never use (like Windows ME
