SFC3.exe - Entry point not found?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

SFC3.exe - Entry point not found?

okay i'm to the point of getting physically violent with my computer

i installed star trek star fleet command 3 on my comp
when i try to play it says and i quote
'the procedure entry point OpenVxDHandle could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll'

apparently this had something to do with direct x so i installed the latest version. still no luck. so my question is how do i get my firggen game to work and what the heck is a OpenVxDHandle?

Microsoft Thsi is one of the items about the item in question.
Which version of windows do you have?

edit -

This article was previously published under Q141131
The Kernel32.lib file in the combined Windows 95 or Windows NT Win32 SDK does not contain the OpenVxDHandle function because this function is specific to Windows 95 only. You can use LoadLibrary and GetProcAddress to obtain the address of the OpenVxDHandle function in order to perform dynamic linking from an application.

For more information on OpenVxDHandle see the Windows 95 DDK.
The information in this article applies to:
Microsoft Win32 Device Driver Kit (DDK) Windows 95

Okay, this is my solution: Try to reinstall the program. Restart your computer. Do any of those and it might. Just don't go crazy over it. Stay calm. Breathe. I had something similar to that on my parents computer with Battlefield 1942 and it turned out that my video card wasn't good enough. Check and make sure that all of your specs meet the requirements. Thats all I can think of at the time.

If all else fails... Put your foot through the screen.

If that is the case, the item, OpenVxDHandle, will not be found. Hmm. Hopefully Taw or Esq will read this as I have had every version of Windows, except 95.

Is there any other info that shows, error messages excetera that might give the guys a little more to go on?
