Terrible, terrible news ... Warlord Bob we send with you ou

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

To lose anyone in a community is a terrible thing.. and to lose someone so young is worse.. My thoughts and best wishes go to his family, to have the light go out in someone so young is a very difficult thing to bear...

I include here something I found helpful after a death in my own family... a fight long fought .... but lost just the same...

Lament – A prayer for the dead (Celtic)

When the mouth shall be closed,
When the eyes shall be shut,
When the breath shall cease to rattle,
When the heart shall cease to throb,
When heart and breath shall cease;

May the Swift Sure Hand uphold you,
And shield you from evil of every kind,
May the Swift Sure Hand uphold you,
And guide your foot along the way,
May the Swift Sure Hand uphold you,
And lead you across the sword-bridge,
May the Swift Sure Hand shield, lead, and guide you
Across the narrow way
By which you leave this world;

And guard you from all distress and danger,
And place the pure light of joy before you,
And lead you into Courts of Peace,
And service of a True King
In Courts of Peace,
Where Glory and Honour and Majesty
Delight the Noble Kin for ever.

May the eye of the Great God
Be a pilot star before you,
May the breath of the Great God
Be a smooth way before you,
May the Heart of the Kingly God
Be a boon of rich blessing to you.

May the flames of this burning
Light your way…
May the flames of this burning
Light your way…
May the flames of this burning
Light your way to the world beyond.

God speed Warlord Bob.....

I'll even come back to say goodbye and godspeed to you and your family Bob. May the pain and suffering you endured in this life be gone in your next. Rest in Peace, and don't laugh too hard at us as you watch over us butchering the game. Peace and love, Doug "Boscoe" Bacon

@SnS

If need be yes but it would be nice if we could tell the Cancer group where to send the acknowledgment. It would be, I think, even nicer if we could send it to the research that involved Worth's situation.

@All,

I am not that much of a believer in preminitions and all but did anyone notice the ending tags to the two threads linked to this one? The first, that SnS provided is closed by RILMS. Check out his sig. Then, Stinger just posted up the last thread WLB started. Look at the ending post on that one as well and check out whose it is.

It's kind of strange don't you think?

Worth was a good man. He never even really mentioned what was going on in his life. He may be gone, but he will not be forgotten. I will name the best ship in TNG after him. "Warlord" will live on in the hearts of others. It really is a shame, so young, makes you really think about life.

For WB

(Ye mountains of Gilboa let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: For there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away...)

For the world is smaller because of Worth leaving it, we shall never for get him and his compasion and careing...words are not enough to say what is in the heart...

@Reynen or Chips, is it possible to add in names into the pilot names database of Freelancer. Add in a character of Warlord Bob into that list so we can see him from time to time flying past us to eternally fight the good fight!

UPDATE:
Chips answered this in the Comments section on the news post. Yes it is possible. He even said someone could rename the Mission Commission to Warlord Bob. So it would be Warlord Bob who gave you all your assignments!

Wow......this is the first time i've gotten on today and this was not what i was expecting....
What a shame at such a young age, it really makes you take a step back and look at your own life. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. I think we all know he is in a better place now.

Wow. I'm not sure if I ever really met him, but I'm glad to see the community remebering him this way...

As Carter once said:

"What do you think happens when we die? Are we gone forever? No! We live on in the hearts of others, and that is the root of joy!"

Good bye WLB

We all have our appointments, however good bye is still a hard thing to say.

To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven:
A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted,
A time to kill and a time to heal, a time to break down and a time to build up,
A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
A time to get and a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to cast away,
A time to rend and a time to sew, a time to keep silence and a time to speak,(2)
A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.(3)

May be we'll actually meet each other in the life after
