Adult Swim

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Adult Swim

There is rather fun, if a bit inexplicable, segment of Television on Cartoon Network called Adult Swim. The reason it is called that because "All kids out of the pool." Generallly these are adult cartoons with crude humour and adult situations.

There are two themes to Adult Swim. One Anime (which Taw probably watches or would like watching) or two hysterical comedic toons that are really hard to describe because of their random humour. But many of the toons are actually old cartoons from the 60's to 70's remade with crude and unexpected humour.

I really like the latter theme of funny cartoons a lot! Sealab 2021 is my favourite. You'd think that because they're stuck on a 1970's TV show that is entirely set on an underwater lab they'd be limited with what they could do ... happily that is not the case!

Everybody knows Futurama and Family Guy well those were added to the list of Adult Swim cartoons about a year ago.

A lot of people's favourite is Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which I like a lot but not as much as some do. I heard there were some original episodes or at least scripts for this show where the "Force" actually did heroic things. Because as the show is now all they do is smash TVs, eat, anger each other and mutilate ... things.

Space Ghost Coast to Coast was the first one I saw, before there was an Adult Swim. When it led the lineup for a while it brought me to enjoy The Brak Show who is a ex-foe of the ripped from the 60's superhero Space Ghost. This is a great show with some of the funniest and most original situations of all the shows.

Those are pretty much the only shows I like in the lineup. Like I said, there is plenty of anime as well as a few dumb shows I don't like at all. However if you're curious about these shows, the main list is at Adult Swim. Also Family Guy, Futurama, Space Ghost & Aqua Teen Hunger Force are already out on DVD with at least their first seasons. Sealab 2021 will be out this June along with season 2 of Aqua Teen.

If you ever get a chance you should check some of these out. They are a particular type of humour and not quite everyone's cup of tea or ovaltine for that matter.

Futurama's the coolest. And it shouldn't be on adult swim. Regular Fox suited me fine... ;_;

Ah well, I guess I can still watch it... its just not the same.. *sigh*

why did they change the "packaging" this last year? u know with the black screen and the white words? i remember when it was a pool..and wierd music started with voices saying,"all kids out of the pool". and then old people got in the pool..uck!

I watch it when I can, i have Family Guy and Futurama on DVD though but still some of those shows are pretty funny, out of the lineup I think one of my favorite has to be Sealab 2021, but I like them since their not retro their actually new cartoons as remakes. I do really hate the new packaging though, they should change it, its really bland and even moreso boring, you just sit there reading words while some alternative music you dont really hear plays in the background.

"I see dumb people....... they 're everywhere. They walk around like everyone else. They dont even know their dumb"

i have the family guy dvds, and i'd get the futurama ones if i wasnt broke.

as far as other adult cartoons go, i don't care for them that much. Undergrads is alright, but that's basically university or highschool humor, nothing too serious there. i'd much rather watch lighter humor like simpsons than "adult" humor.

for a real adult cartoon, check out Spawn...it used to be on late at night, but i haven't seen it in a long time

The other day, in study hall, i farted really loud, you know...so the guys would laugh...and i swear it was so hanus that Susie Johnson almost ralphed up her salsbury steak.
it was freakin sweet...

Both Family Guy and Futurama are really funny on TV, but I don't know if I'd want them on DVD. I just don't think I'd watch them much with so many DVDs to choose from on my shelf. But I will get Sealab. For some reason, Family Guy and Futurama don't hold up over a few watches with me (few watches of the same episodes).

the Anime on Adult Swim is crappy...the english adaptions suck, but the other stuff is great, Sealab, Space Ghost, and Aquateen Hunger Force are my favorite ones...LOL...has anyone seen an episode of Hunger Force with the dudes from the moon that look like giant pixels? SO funny.

@GE, which one, I can think of 3 episodes with them in it. The first one introduced them, the second, they're stealing cable, the third they're hosting a convention on the moon. But they are funny, those 8-bit sounds are a laugh too.

@god like entity
not all the Anime sucks they Had FLCL on for a while which is one of my favorite Anime shows and You cant not like trigun or Bebop, but the rest isn't too good.

I'm A huge fan of Futuerama and saw it from when it first came out to where it is now, Even say 3 episodes in Italy while I was in a hotel there.

I had a super Ego, but it was pestering me so I killed it.

When I shot it the bullet grazed my soul, and that bled to death too

@Sir specter I have seen the ones where they are introduced, and the one where the steal calbe
@bev, I didn't mean the anime itself sucks, the english adaptions suck...I love trigun and cowboy bebop...just not the english adaptions, I have the trigun dvds, and my friend gave me the cowboy bebop ones...its best if you watch it with subtitles and japanese audio.

What's a funny line you guys remember from any of these shows?

A great one I can't forget is Captain Murphy on Sealab spouting. "It's like a Koala bear crapped a rainbow in my brain!"
