Why aren't people allowed to discuss politics? I don't think anything quite compares to the cut and thrust of a good political debate.

Because they turn into flame fests when someone can't control themself, and then that person starts a chain-reaction of flaming with other people.

Exactly, politics leads to anger, anger leads to hate and hate leads to suffering. Seriously though 99% of political discussions end in a verbal dust up, have a look at question time in any govt. if you don't believe me. In the mean time *click*
