Does the sun have a companion?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I could spend my entire life discussing the flaws in this theory, but since I couldn't be bothered, I'll sum it up in ome word: B U L L S H IT

old news, heard this 20 years ago, thought it was cr*p then. the Nemesis star/planet disturbs the Oort cloud sending comets and asteroids towards the Sun. there's not a single piece of evidence for this theory, it's pure conjecture to explain periodical mass extinctions.

Now THAT's a crazy theory! If there were a star with such a large orbit, then why haven't we picked it up with our myriad space telescope and Observatories? Even before Copernicus and Gallileo, people have been pointing shiny glass cylinders at the sky, and no-one has seen a second sun. What does this indicate? That it doesna exist, laddie!

I was sitting here drinking my coffee, and reading the article and can only come up with one truly serious cocnlusion about the idea, and that is that this would make one hell of a seriously good science fiction story.

But I also haven't got the educational background to debunk this on a scientific level. It deserves to be argued over by a series of well educated people who have some sort of relative expertise in this arena. (this does not include me however I still wanna see a great sci -fi come out of this ). I CAN say that I don't believe it because it's never been mentioned anywhere that we as students in grade school, middle and also high school would have naturally been exposed to it even as a possibility.

That's my two cents worth, which sadly still comes up one and a half cents short.

Just so you know, it already has made a good science fiction story.

The wolfy types like a cow

Post Wed Feb 25, 2004 6:07 pm

O.K. You can come. But on Bizarro world everything opposite of World. You will talk sense all time not just special time.

Yup and in Bizarro World all new topics are locked by default and moderators unlock them if they are deemed worthy.

Anyway, this guys has got to be a bit of a nutter. However considering I am little mentally unstable I can see where his train of thought took him, just a shame he felt the need to publish them with zero facts. Even some made up ones would have been better.

yup, so is this gonna be locked or what? cause i'm confuzzled
