Veggy anyone?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I say screw it. I love my American hamburgers and a thick juicy steak over some veggie pattie any day of the week. I personally think the media blows everything out of proportion over here in the US anyway. Its amazing what turns into big stories over here when there is nothing major going on.

OH NO WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE UNLESS WE GO VEGETARIAN!!

Sorry, pal, I'm stickin to the meat. The risks of getting the diseases are far too low for me to be worried about it.

Apperently, If you stop having dairy productics for a month or so, you're body can't handle it and you become lactose intolorant.

Like a girl I know once said, "Who thought that baby cow food was good for adult humans?"

Life: No one gets out alive.

Hitler was a vegetarian...

Post Tue Feb 24, 2004 11:19 pm

I became a vegetarian for my girlfriend actually. She cant handle meat so our future would be troubled if I didnt stop eating meat so i said i would stop. But i can still eat eggs (YUM) and dairy products.

Post Tue Feb 24, 2004 11:31 pm

Screw that, I'm not giving up my steak for no stinkin disease. They can fight me for it, but I'll be winning.

Post Tue Feb 24, 2004 11:31 pm

So, let me get this straight....

Your girlfriend does not like to eat meat, most likley because she is profiting from the killing of animals. But it is ok with her to kill and eat defenseless baby chickens right before they a born? And what about all those poor cows that are kept locked into a 8x6 foot box for their entire lives becase they have to produce milk?

Is that fair! I think not!

But then again, I am not a vegetarian.

Cows arn't kept like that, are they?

Actually, she CANT eat meat. She'll get sick and vomit if she does. Same goes for some members of her family.

Post Tue Feb 24, 2004 11:43 pm

Ah, that would explain why she still eggs and milk products.

For those who think you would miss the protien, soy is a good substitute. Soy makes good burgers, depending which company makes them. I still will keep my fish and locally grown turkey

Pah - bah and go away to all this hokum melarky.

Mad cow disease? No evidence that it gets transmitted to humans at all - none. Also - with strict guidelines in place - you should be fine. They thought it might be transmitted by some parts (NOT the meat, but the spinal cord) which is now banned from most countries meat products. Furthermore - infected beef next to uninfected = not a transmission possiblity. So say for every one in 20000 or so that might have got through.........the chances of eating that one cows spine in your dinner is darned small........odds are nearly as good as playing the lottery for hecks sake!

Furthermore - if it WAS transmissable - then there WOULD have been a CJD epedemic - and seeing as VEGETARIANS have had the disease, then its another naturally occuring disease that they MUST find a source of and stuff........i mean come on - when can we accept that cancer is a natural disease.........come on - breast cancer - terrible, are you telling me that smoking increases a womans chance of breast cancer? Heck no - its natural, its cell mutation.....of course somethings might HELP mutations occur (smoking) but they can occur naturally and for no reason at all as well. Its a natural disease - just like CJD - but we need to find a "cause" for it instead.......pah

Chickens? Blimey - what now? Chicken flu i take it? Humans contract it from living chickens, not the dead ones. Anyone would think that the whole world is ravaged by the problem - its not. Media histeria - how else are they going to sell papers? Headline of "Chicken Flu Epedemic in Thailand has been curbed" or would it be "Chicken Flu.........americans might die!!" - which would sell more papers? Same old human maschoistic ways - all bad news sells, if there aint any............make some up instead.

Anyway - Pigs, Fish, turkey, Lamb, Deer, and tons and tons of other meats are still going without problems. I would only turn veggie IF i went to the supermarket and the place was filled with poeple on their knees mooing, baying, clucking, and scratching the floor with their feet looking for food. Until then, I would be more worried about not washing the veg properly, and ingesting some of those pesky pesticides they use (which can harm you), and the more worrying time that in fact they have found 5 black widow spiders in bunches of bananas in tescos over the past two years! (only found when opened up at home!).

I would love to see histeria from everyone staying at home as you print the number of pedestrians run over each year. Look at the stats - around 10000 times more poeple die due to being run over by cars than CJD or chicken transmitted diseases!........until those odss even up - i am staying inside and away from those nutts drives.........and i aint touching any electric sockets in this house either - 500 times more people died from turning on TV's than CJD in past ten years..

Oh yes, have to get up pretty early to put one over me with this fear crap *turns the light on whilst wearing rubber wellington boots and wearing yellow rubber kitchen gloves* - yep, i don't scare easy *uses webcam to look at weather outside*.....ah alls good
