Seatle

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Taw - I am happy to see that you are happy to see that you were wrong!

BE - That might be the case, but is that a good thing? It sounds like Seattle is MS Central. I can just imagine what it must be like;

[Scene: Dark, foggy night
Man walks down street and enters alley. Shady character (Smuggler) comes out of the shadows.

"Have you got the stuff?" says the first man.
"Yeah, it's the good stuff; Mandrake Linux!" says the Smuggler.

Sound of sirens approaching, and a policeman steps out of the car with a megaphone.

"Drop the Open Source Software, and place your hands above your head! We are prepared to use force!"

I love America!

**Puts down soap box and steps up***
<Ahem>

@Esq & Taw

While it is true that we seem to bear the brunt of "ignorance" jokes from the rest of the English speaking world, I would like to point out that the term "shares" is not alien to us. In fact, shares are traded in the major stock exchanges of this country all the time.

Although there are stockbrokers employed at firms such Merrill Lynch, those brokers deal in shares for their clients (and themselves). And when stockholders are unhappy with the actions taken by a corporate boards or management, courses of action they commonly take in this very litigious society are known as shareholders' derivative actions.

**Steps off of soap box, picks it up and walks off**

Don't be offended, old son! It's expected that we bash the Yanks, it's part of our cultural heritage! Seriously, Australians always bash the Yanks, just as the Yanks always bash the Australians. It's a form of entertainment on both sides, I think. Besides, I am not criticising you personally (and I doubt Taw is either). Indeed, you are credit to your species; I mean nationality .

This sounds like the old Hatfield Vs McCoy fueid, went on over the years till it became a family tradition They never did find out who started that either.

@Esqy:

No offense taken. Honestly.

I like to get up on a soap box from time to time. That's all.

<Edit>

Goes back and adds stage directions to former post.

My favourite city is Stockholm. Its the cleanest goddamn city I've ever been to in my life....the architecture is superb....the people are lovely...and the women are 80% tall and blonde

That's good to hear Indy, and I can respect that . The thing is though, you should have added exeunt when leaving with your soapbox. Go for that Shakespearean feel .

Post Thu Feb 26, 2004 2:00 pm

or "exeunt, stage left" a la Snagglepuss

Post Thu Feb 26, 2004 4:46 pm

I was wondering if anyone was going to bring that up!

Post Thu Feb 26, 2004 5:20 pm

SnS is the playwright. I'm just a pundit, so to speak. But, exeunt stage left it is.

@Grom

How tall is a woman at 80%? How blonde is a woman at 80%?
