A new idea-The Gaming Glove
This device/hardware compnent, whatever you want to call it, is designed to replace the mouse as the primary movement control.
The base design is basically a ball-type wheel mouse that has been ripped apart and restructured.
The main bulk of the mouse circutry is held in place on the plam of your hand, covered by a comforatable plastic dome to prevent static destruction. The three buttons on the mouse are represented by metallic pads attached by extendabe bars to the main circutry, the 'ball' is inside a casing with the two movement wheels custom fitted to suit, the case has a hole in it to allow the thumb to control movement.
the index and fourth finger are covered by metallic pads that contact with each mouse-button pad underneath, allowing little-effort 'pushing' of the respective buttons.
The wheel is atteched to the middle bar, depending on the structure of the mouse, the wheel may be an actual 'wheel' with a seperat pad for itself, or a set of traingular pads.
The glove has a 'passive' and 'active' modes.
In 'passive' the buttons a ball are folded under the palm, and you need to curl your fingers around to hit them.
In 'active' the pads and button are extended right out under the fingers and thumb, to allow quick response in fast games.
The circutry, as i have already said is underneath the palm, with the pads and ball radiating out, three wire come out from the frond and loop between the fingers up to a relay on the top, which supplies the wires for the finger-pads.
The relay is held in place by three metal wires that radiate out and rejoin underneath on the curcuitry casing.
One geos through the space between the index finger and thumb, the other loop aroud on the upper left and lower left sides of the hand.
The final suppor mechanism is a velcro strap, supported from the upper and lower, that wraps around the wrist.
Data intefacing is done via a cable running along the underside of the arm, attached loosely at the elbow, before looping around and plugging into the computer.
Let me know what you think...
