the thread about music

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

try looking for a demo version of a program called fruity loops. it has got a built-in midi synth. the only prob is it doesnt save. Other programs include Sonic Foundry's ACID and Hammerhead Rythym Station. just look on altavista or google and look for shareware music programs.

hope it helps

whoopee.. another guitarist. but since you're talking about amps, i guess you're'nt in my league. you play electric? well i'm into acoustics.

Bah, I hate fruity loops it's got every half assed computer user out there thinking they are a fookin ace musician / mixer.
I'm a fan of Cool Edit Pro 2 though, providing you've got a decent sound card you can plug your axe straight into your pc and record away. It's lacking a drum machine though and the stock effects suck, I still use external effects with it. However you can lay down as many tracks as your heart desires and do some fairly heavy hacking and slashing to remove those not so nice bits where you ballsed it up.

Major gripe with it is that the play back of tracks is at a significantly lower volume than what you recorded it at. So when recording another track over the top it's fairly tricky getting your timing right because you can't hear the play back track over what your playing.

Still for all it's bad points it's a pretty cool utility for messing around in, but your not going to get a studio quality production with it.

Mustang - is that free software, or know anything that might be free that would allow me to whack me beauty (Axe) into the comp to make the world suffer at my god awful (i sound brilliant though!) playing? . Never recorded any of my playing, but got me interested etc - hmm - the possiblities.

I play trombone *waits for applause to die down ()*

That is, I did before getting sick and kicked out of school. I get no pleasure from playing by myself. Small orchestral groups are better, but nothin compared to a nice say, 8 piece Jazz band ! That was great fun, and marching band is even better. IMO the fun on brass is making a bit of noise, not sweetly singing people to sleep.

We had some cr*p music write software once. It was cr*p.

Mustang - is that free software

If you say had a P2P program like KaZaa and went searching for it, you might find some "evaluation" copies of Cool Edit Pro 2.0.

I, personally, am a drummer. I just got my set a few months ago and I've been playin nonstop, whenever I'm not on here or riding my bike. Anyone else a drummer, or am I the only one who can stand the pain of typing with sore wrists?

I tried to pick up bass guitar, but I just couldn't get into it. Nowadays my amp is a doorstop(albeit a bloody good one, seriously, I mean they should advertise that on the box.). The bass just sits in the corner rotting, next to my trumpet, didgeridoo,et al...
