Printers
This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Printers. They are very useful, except when they decide to play games. One of my duties is to maintain an HP 8150N printer and today, it nearly died on me. I couldn't seem to figure out exactly why it kept becoming jammed as all the paths appeared to be clear. Eventually, I took out the toner cartridge, and then the whole roller assembly (burning myself on the rollers ), before finally emerging with at least twenty neat paper fans crammed into the printer. Now I'm sitting here, hands covered in ink and some minor burns. How's that for a fun shift?
if you check inside by the paper lift mechanism there's a cork strip. if you follow that edge along there's a white plastic lever on a spring, this is the lynchpin (literally) of the paper lift and sort assembly. HP Lasers break them after about a years regular use, stops lifting the paper properly.
We use Brother. HP make rubbish now.

Cash or check?

Networked printers are like copiers. They simply will not last and are the objects of abuse and neglect.
We're moving to having those new paper management all-in-ones installed (copier/scanner/printer) the big kinds made by Canon and IBM are being beta-ed around the office.
It's bad enough when a printer or a copier goes down. I cannot imagine the chaos that will ensue when both the copier and the printer goes down at the same time.... Until recently, the scanners were just fine... but now.... what will they think of next?

Printers are like anything else, designed to break down. If it lasted forever, we would still be using Dot Matrix....

We have some ancient and highly overused HP laser jet 4's that require constant attention. Unfortunately the fusing assemblies are the most popular part to go at the moment. They are always covered in that fine ink powder (which always neatly ejects itself onto my shirt) and always screaming hot. I've stolen two baking mits from the office kitchen to swap them out now, definately one of my better ideas.
A better idea would be to replace the ol' hunks of crap, but no-one listens to me.

hmm... everything? every bloody lexmark I've had was a disaster! I've never heard of a GOOD lexmark printer, and i doubt i ever shall!
I prefer to stick to the good old HPs and EPSONs of the world...
