got a Marist Father's scholarship for me schooldays and a Bursary from the DES for me postgrad and an extra £3K for teacher training. I spent the lot on beer, beer, fags and more beer. And a hi-fi.

in 4 years theres only 2 places i hqve my eye on

Well, that's one person out of the hundred or so regular posters around here. Not that I'm surprised; Universities are notoriously tight-fisted when giving out scholarships.
