I've encountered simular problems with ethernet, i have a 50ft cat5e line running upstairs and my computer is receiving and sending information, but just won't connect to the internet, but my brother's computer works perfectly, try useing the wireless network, if that doesnt work, contact a networking company! and if all else fails throw the POS out the window
