update on the spirit

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

update on the spirit

spirit havin troubles
spirit seems to be coughin bubbles now.. not a very good sign. then again, i hope opportunity lands real near spirit so it can start making hardware operations on the faulty machine. pity...

p.s i thought they were doing a triple mission, not a double mission...

oh, and,

opportunity closing in

this is somthing about the opportunity thats gonna land on mars, apparently my hopes are dashed, the thing lands on the other side. but maybe it'll find some good stuff.. since hematite seems to be present there.

He may not have done it on purpose, but he missed his closing "url" tags.

It's not the hardware. It's the freakin' software. They must be running Windows

God didn't like that it was called "spirit" so he broke it.

I bet it was a martian version of a dog that came by and took care of his business.

yet another reason not to waste money on silly missions to places that are of no value whatsoever.

Post Sun Feb 01, 2004 9:58 am

Ha! I bet that, deep down in side, there was a moment of hesitation when you thought that some wriggly looking Martians had disabled the rover. Admit it Taw!

Post Sun Feb 01, 2004 10:26 am

The folks that want to send the rover, do not think of the long term cost of getting people there. They are dependent on themselves, gone for years, food, water, air, and a place to stay. All that money spent when it could be put back here on earth for more people to use rather than a handfull of scientist. Even if water, air and plant life were found, it would take 100 years to get all the resources there to make a liveable base. The main population on earth would not be benifited. Redivert the money back here to have meds for all, jobs for all, ect. Just an opinion

My bet is that Martian intelligence found out about the "Spirit", took it literally, and sent scouts to retrieve it from the rover. That attemt having failed, they're now looking forward to another opportunity

Both rovers are working. Spirit did a bit of drilling of a rock, Opportunity is taking pictures of geological strata in a 3 ft tall abutment.

Can you bear the suspense?

Post Mon Feb 09, 2004 12:38 pm

I can drill a rock. can i have 750million dollars then please?

Spirit was lacking in morale, and oppritunity rose tot take it's place in fame.
