Crappy Games

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Please forgive my ignorance, gentlemen. But is the X2 that you are refering to, X2 : Wolverines Revenge? I am not up on all the current games these day, I keep my head in Freelancer and Starwars: Rebbellion too much to keep up. Just want to keep informed a little more so I'm not in the darkages.

I just bought X2 on sunday, man what a frickin steep learning curve. I spent 3 hours just learning the basics. Finding a good trade route isn't exactly easy either, I spent about another 2 hrs pulling in a measly 20k. I'm thinking it's going to be a very long road before I become god of the X galaxy. This is all good stuff though, it's almost like a modern day return to the simulators of yore.

My only real beef is the god awful charector models. Our hero Julian (could they pick a more gay name?) looks like a play-do nightmare. The bird in the thong would be better described as an undernourished guest of the Heinrich Himmler, rather than the slinky sex object she is supposed to represent. That's without mentioning the infexible kneecaps that she teeters around on. The rest of them closely resemble deep sea fish stunned by a grenade attack.
Well I think I've suitably derided that portion of the game *adjusts belt with satisfaction*

Still I think I'm going to get my money's worth out of it, so far it has been very enjoyable.

I do apreciate the patience and the help. I did a search with IE and only came up with X-men, that was the reason I asked. Again, please forgive my ignorance. B-)

Yeah Mustang, the charecter models suck. Thankfully once you finish the campaign, or decide not to play it (the campaign is like 10 percent of the game) you never have to see him again!

Let me give you a few little tips: Hunt pirates (shoot until they eject then order it to dock at a shipyard and sell) or trade Energy in the wall until you have just enough money to buy a factory and ship(s) to support it. You wont be raking in any credits until you get a factory up. Your first factory should be a soler power plant in Kingdoms End or Lucky Planets or somewhere like that. Read egosoft spoiler forums for help n' ideas n' stuff.

May I recommend this map: http://www.xscripting.com/modules.php?n ... tit&lid=24

Shows where shipyards are and good for pirate hunting (shows pirate bases) feel free to email me or sumthin if you have trouble with anything

The CGI characters moved like cheap robots. That's something else that really surprised me. It's like we're back in the old days with that sort of animation.

What really pisses me of is when you've spotted a game that you've heard about, such as Freelancer, that has been in production for ages. You play the demo, great!, but then you get round to reading the review, and, like in PCZone, it's a load of bullsh*t, they just kept comparing it to Elite! I think Freelancer, in many many ways exceeds Elite. The only thing lacking in Freelancer was the repetitiveness of the missions, which kinda put me off a bit.

Have you seen the online reviews of Freelancer? I think PC Zone slated it, and insulted DA and MS buy giving it a mediocre 84, when IMHO it should have been atleast 90! PC Gamer gave it a 94 I think, or something like that, but still, it's an insult!

At least it acheived something in the GameSpot Award things. Second place in Simulation is amazing, and it was only shunned by MS Flight Simulator 2K4!

Good on ya' DA!
