No More Hubble

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I can't believe this... Dammit. They gave up... @ssholes.
Don't let kimk see this, he'll be very upset...

Careful what you wish... You just might get it.

Wait a minuite, I'm confused. First America says that its going to Mars, then it says it's gonna shut down Hubble. Is that the way you revitalize a space program? Huh?

Hubble is being replaced by somthing even better I'm shure, so kimk can't complain too much. Still, it's an awful expensive thing to let it go to pot.

I remember hearing something to the fact that hubble is sinking too low in the atmosphere and will eventually burn up. But for now it's safe, but it's now too hazardous for Astronauts. I could have heard wrong, but that's what I remember. Point is, there is definitely a reason for it.

is it insured? if they just let it fall into the atmosphere, will they still get a payout?

Hello... Am I speaking to the insurance company...???

yes.

We just got word that Hubble burnt up in the atmosphere, and we would like the insurance to pay out..

ah yes... I have your policy right here, you are insured for fire, alien attacks, lens damage and nuclear holocaust, but I'm afraid your notinsured against falling back to earth and burning up, Sorry...

Oh Darn it....

Oh yes Taw, I can imagine it allready.

Hello, is this the insurance company?

Yes.

Hubble Telescope just fell through my roof and I would like the unsurance to pay out.

ah yes... I have your policy right here, you are insured for fire, alien attacks, Astroids the size of Texas and nuclear holocaust, but I'm afraid your notinsured against Hubble falling through your roof, Sorry...

Mmm, sounds about right. It is unfortunate, because Hubble has done so much for us in terms of understanding more about the universe. It is yet another example of the old "when it gets old it ain't worth fixing" mentality that seems to permeate much of society.

don't these space things usually land on Australia when they crash and burn? you've had them in the past, I think. was it Skylab or some other piece of junk? Where did that Mir thing fall to bits over? well, finally; I know bits had been dropping off it for years.

why cant the Yanks just bring it back? they got it up there, after all.

Post Sun Jan 18, 2004 5:26 pm

i suppose it wouldnt be hard. They go up to do something hilarious to the ISS, they could bring down Hubble. That way at least it could be put in a museum or something.

Mir came down over the south Atlantic, New Zealand was in the most danger of being collected but there was a small chance it would've hit Aus. Didn't end up hitting anything though, except ocean of course.

Post Sun Jan 18, 2004 6:17 pm

Damn! If it had crashed in Aus, maybe we could have lost Howard! Damn little troll-man *grumble* .

Chances are that some idiot would botch the whole thing... and with my luck, Hubble would hit my school during Algebra... and they wouldnt give a flying fig... and just continue... until they realise the science teacher is no more, four days later... because in my city... idiots roam free like rabbits... and my school isnt in my city... its in the little village a mile away the politicians are too lazy to annex... and its even stupider... but I would notice it... heh... fun fun fun... school ends earlier for me... but someone would blame me... because theyre even dumber than the adults... and me and the deviant few smart people will be tormented by idiots... is it just me... or am I babbling?
